    Default Power line Internet

In its teething stage Power-line Internet is a new service. It is very new that will allow the broadband Internet data to travel using standard high-voltage power lines. Since it is a new technology and still needs to be tested the Power-line Internet system has a number of issues that are complex in nature. The most important issue is that power lines create a very noisy environment. The problem is that every time a device is turned on or off a pop or click is introduced into the line. Since it is an energy-saving device so it is sure to make noise in the lines. Measure should be taken that such noises are avoided to make this system successful.

I have never heard of Power Line internet. How fast is it? (kb/sec) I am curious because I'd like to find out if we have it in the US or if fiber optics are faster.

Speed depends on the connectivity from your ISP node internet over power line is 10/100/1000Mbps.

Internet over power line can transmit the data at a speed of your LAN but there is not need to deploy the CAT5 cables as it uses your current electrical lines in your home or office.

If you need more info on the same then let me know.....

Could be amazing change because using High tension wires PLCC(Power Line communication Carriers) should work at better speeds though the harmonics introduced may be an issue but the advantages are way too high specially in saving of wires and all

But am a bit confused as in birender said it depends on ISP's speed so does you company take the connection from ISP , collect it and distribute it from a central Hub in a limited building or area right?

We provide this as an end user solution to the customer, customer can be domestic or commercial...

Example: if customer have lease line connectivity then they can share the internet with our solution..

For ISP our company provide this service currently in Haryana with the help of Haryana electricity board we installed our equipment in feeders at different location and all feeders are connected with our wireless network infrastructure so the areas which get the electricity from that particular feeders they the have default connectivity at their homes just they have to buy our CPE and start using the service our speed start from 128 kbps to so on up to 25 mbps.

Awesome! This is new. I don't really see or perhaps notice your company anywhere. And that internet connection speed is way fast. I don't think I'll still think twice when I ask for yourservices.

HowStuffWorks "How Broadband Over Powerlines Works"
    short extract.
...On April 23, 2003, the FCC put forth a Notice of Inquiry to the public supporting the potential of the BPL technology and seeking to set standards in practice for its implementation. Immediate opposition came from the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Both entities claim that BPL will cause serious interference issues.

A BPL modem is considered an unlicensed device, like a cordless phone or garage door opener. All unlicensed devices are governed by the FCC's Part 15 rules. Part 15 mandates that all electronic devices sold in the United States must meet FCC radio-frequency emissions limits. These limits are in place to secure against interference with important transmissions like CB communications, air-traffic control and government channels. ARRL and FEMA are concerned about the interference caused by BPL signals transmitted on exposed medium-voltage power lines......................

As we are the service providers and we use products as per our specifications before deploy we test it many time with different environments and we don't find any interference with any devices with checked with spectrum analyzers
