Rep Power: 1 | T-1 internet access are for business and not for individual subscribers. There are separate T-1 for data and voice. So they are often prefixed as Data T-1 or Voice T-1 to differentiate between the two. A phone company's central office or CO is where the voice T-1 terminates for connection to the PSTN and a point of presence; POP or data center is where data T-1 terminates. Now the T-1 line which lies between the customer's premises and the POP or CO is known as the local loop. The network at the POP where the T-1 connects to the Internet may not be owned by the owner of the local loop. Hence one can subscribe and have contracts with two organizations separately. |
