Default Starcom UT 300-R2 - Dlink DIR 300

I am using Starcom UT 300-R2 modem having BSNL unlimited plan. Currently I am connecting the internet by giving username/password, then I guess it is of bridge type.

Recently I bought a Dlink Dir 300 wireless router. I want to configure that with my modem and also use it for my laptop with wifi.

Thing is, I changed my modem configuration to pppoe and unable to connect the internet (w/o the wireless router itself). I went through this forum but none matched the GUI of my starcom webpage and hence I am not sure if I got the settings right. But I am able to connect the internet using my username and password, and setting the IP address, subnet, dns server ip in the TCP/IP part of the Local area connection in Network connections.

With respect to dlink, should I have to set static pppoe or dynamic pppoe ??

Kindly give in your inputs. Thanks in advance

Please take the trouble of typing "IT' model/make/number
    and "Bsnl modem" . model/make/number.

    or
we have to presume you have UT300r2 and DIR300 ?

Yes. TAD100 seems similar to beetel220BX or
    ut300r2u ( new model )

    available for this purpose.
Model number/s may be different but idea is same.

Go for a Dual Antenna N type wifi routers.
( for better range ) or Buffalo models.

For Home use in WIFI mode Bsnl WIfi model
    wa3002-g4 cost Rs 1600/= taxes 10.3%
is sufficient. ( adsl modem+4portlan+ wifi)
Any other WIFI router to be used with TAD100 will cost minimum approx Rs 1500/=
    to Rs 2000( netgear wgr614 V9 ).
Better to buy locally whichever model is available, so that the Dealer will give for 1 year guarantee for free replacement.

    2. will update about TAD100 later.

I have UT300R2U and Dlink DIR 600 for wireless connection. The setup I have done to use both my laptop and PC simultaneously is as follows:

    1. Set UT300R2U in PPPoE mode i.e. UT300R2U will dial the connection.
    2. Set UT300R2U as DHCP server.
    3. Run an Ethernet cable from UT300R2U LAN port to the WAN(internet) port of DIR 600.
    4. Run another Ethernet cable from LAN port of DIR 600 to the Ethernet port of PC.
    5. Set DIR 600 in Dynamic IP mode.
    6. Configure wireless network on DIR 600 using built-in wizard.(custom SSID, WPA2, passphrase etc.)
    7. Configure laptop's wireless network using the settings saved in DIR 600 to access the wireless network.

Now I can use internet both the PC and Laptop simultaneously. However DIR 600 has PPPoE mode. So now I am trying to eliminate UT300R2U from the network. The telephone cable fits in the internet port of DIR 600. Has anyone tried this? I can use help

Not possible. specs show Dir600 is only an WIFI router.
( no ADSL modem built-in ). Even otherwise Rj11 port has to be different.
