Default Siemens C2110 and Linksys WAP54G

I am trying to set up my wireless network through my modem Siemens C2110 and router Linksys WAP54G. So far no success. My laptop is saying that it is connected through linksys router. But unable to access net. If I connect directly through the modem, net is available.

I tried to connect the ethernet cable from the modem on to the router. Is that how it is to be done?

    thanks
    Suvi

    1.
    Start /Network/ show all connections.
    select WLAN
    properties status/support page
    check details.
    2
    Copy/paste here ( No edit )
    ipconfig /all
    2.How do you connect ?
DIALER MODE ( userId/PW entered in computer window)
or "Always On"PPPoE ( ---do-- in modem WAn page)
    Enable DHCP
    In both desktop and laptop
    TCP/IP properties
    enable Assign Automatic Ip address.
    3.
RJ45 from modem LAN port is connected to
Internet/WAN port of WIFI router normally.
sometimes we connect to LAN1 also. ( use as a switch )

I went to my neighbor's home and tested the linksys wireless over there. It got connected instantly without doing any thing. My neighbor's modem connects by itself, whereas my modem will connect only if I click "INTERNET CONNECTION" from "SETTINGS -> NETWORK CONNECTIONS". So if I change my mnodem settings so as to make it connect automatically ( I guess, it is called "always on" mode) my wireless one will work too.

I made the desired changes as listed in BSNL website and the connection worked fine for 3 days or so. After wards, now, net is not getting connected. It is saying "connecting", whenever I check the status. My link light is blinking every 5 seconds or so. I am trying to figure it out.

    1.
Confirm Internet connection not working now.
either in wifi mode or LAN mode .
    2.
When WIFI mode is not working,
    3.
test in Lan mode, and confirm connection is OK.

    4.
    Please post ipconfig /all data.
