To do

1. Get a Linksys router
2. Get a DSL or cable internet connection from ISP, eg. BSNL
3. Buy Ethernet cables

First attach the antenna to the router. Now place the router at a proper distance from the systems. Make sure there are no metals surrounding the router. Look for the internet port on the backside of the router and insert the Ethernet cable.

Now connect the system to the router. Plug in Ethernet cable into the port (Ethernet) and another end to the port on the backside of the router. Make sure you do not plug in into the port named “WAN “.

Plug in the power supply to the router. Wait till the power led stop blinking. During this time, the router will finish boot up. The process may take some time to complete.

Restart your computer so that it can access a new IP address from the router using DHCP. Click on the browser and on the address area, type " http://192.168.1.1/ ". Press enter.

A box will pop up. Enter the username as admin. No need to the password. Leave it blank. Connect to internet and then click Internet Setup. From the drop – down menu , choose the connection type as DHCP for cable modems and select PPPoE for ADSL modems. If in doubt, check with the ISP. Set SSID so that it can identify the router and change the password.

Use WEP key to encrypt the wireless connection. Under wireless security input the password and click generate.
