    Default Shaplus Bandwidth meter

    Shaplus Bandwidth meter is a handy tool to measure your broadband usage. Knowing the irregularity of BSNL usage portal, it is one of the prominent tool for internet users. Shaplus Bandwidth meter provides the usage as now, today and this month. That is you can measure the usage per session of computer, per day and per month. You can also get a monthly list of usage details. Say you need to check the usage for previous month, right click the bandwidth meter and take monthly totals.

    Another benefit is that it allows to disable the meter during Night unlimited period. You can set transparency to different levels. You can also pin the window right to your desktop. You can enable/disable IE flash and images.

    Please note that the usage will be from the moment you install it. Not when you started using the internet. It is an independent source and in no way related to BSNL portal. Make sure that you counter check with your ISP portals as the usage there will be final.

    Only problem is that, ShaPlus Bandwidth Meter wont make changes to the recorded statistics when you enable/disable NU usage skipping.

    An alternative to ShaPlus Bandwidth Meter is NetMeter which supports skips recording net usage between a preset time. Also has very detailed statistics and advanced tools/settings.

    Its a major problem with all bandwidth meters.
    If you are using enabling and disabling NIC it will collapse bandwidth monitoring.If you turn off your computer in NIC disabled mode, it will start counting from 0 again or will ask you to select network interface when you enable NIC again and will be counted from 0 again.
    I have the solution for this.Never turn off PC in NIC disabled mode.

    Try Networx.

    PS. In my previous post I said NetMeter instead of Networx. Networx records all internet traffic and not just which it needs.

    So that way considering the inherent problems of dynamic bandwidth meters, the humble datafox is far better fetching used data directly from portal site. But alas..for the past 2 days (perhaps due to pongal) portal site is down and is so is datafox

    I meant to post Networx instead I posted NetMeter. I submitted another post to correct it but has gone to Moderation queue.

    In Networx, right click "Networx" tray icon-> Settings-> Advanced tab

    It works just like uTorrent's scheduler feature.

    @Archer

    A good one. Rep +
    Moderation business;
    What I found was, the message should start with TEXT.
    a simple @Archer will do.
    then the then the links. preferably with http removed.
    I think moderation is for converting the
    link to pre recorded titles.
    I also found it annoying earlier
    After, spending considerable
    time to draft/edit and post , then find it is "LOST"

    I think we must uncheck in UserCP
    an option about the links.
