    Please see this two links.
    http://rajasthan.bsnl.co.in/main/ZTE...1__TYPE-2_.doc

    or
manish tanwar: Configure (connect) BSNL Type II (Type 2) Modem - ZTE ZXDSL 531B
    Still no connection
will give step by step again tomorrow .
TRY LAN port/ethernet port to desktop first.
    Later wifi.

    1
    In computer
    Start network LAN
    properties
    Network settings page
    select TCP/IP
    properties
    select Obtain Ip address automatically

    enter dns
    8.8.8.8
    208.67.220.220
    APPLY Save.

    2
    Now check
    Start run type cmd Ok
    New window
    type ipconfig /all

copypaste the data here ( NO EDIT)

    3. If modem settings are correct ,with DHCP enabled, you should get connected.

    4. Presume you are trying Dialer Mode.
Then select "Bridged" in wan page
    apply Save.
enter userID PW in computer Window.
what is the error message if any ?

    available upto 0100AM.
This modem/router is very common and no diffculty in set up. ( same as so many other modems, as explained in Private message to you )

    UPDATE:
see this recent post by @indranil. for guidance.
for screen shots. almost identical, except for some extra options

YOu never said yours is Tataindicom ( to be confirmed. !
    VPI/VCI is 0 and 32 not sure.
    You are trying DIALER mode.
Ensure ID and PW entered correctly.
Connect LANport to Ethernet port and try LAN connection first.
    IN computer
    Start network LAN
    Properties
    network settings page
Uncheck IPV6 ( seems you have Vista )
    select tcp/IP
    properties.
    Select Obtain Ip address autimatically.
    In DNS
    Tataindicom/.reliance given dns
    or
Open dns 208.67.220.220 and google dns 8.8.8.8
    Apply Save
    Feedback.

    @bsnlll

Did you try for "Always On" connection, by entering USERID and pW in the WAN page of modem ?
    Additional reference;
    CONFIGURATION
Download manual , if needed still.

Step-1: Open the Internet Explorer, type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press Enter.

Step-2: Type user name as admin and password as admin and click on OK Button.

Step-3: On the left hand side, Click on the advanced setup.

Step-4: Click on edit At right hand side in first row of VPI/VCI where no. is 0/35

Step-5: new window will be opened named ATM PVC Configuration. Click next.

Step-6: Again new window will be opened named connection type. Five options will be there. You have to choose either ppp over Ethernet (second) or bridging(last).

Step-7: if you choose ppp over Ethernet, click on next.

New window will be opened, fill user name and password given by BSNL office then click next.

Again click next on new window and on the last window click save

Step-8: Now you will see initial window i.e. window mentioen in step-4, click on save/reboot option, modem will reboot in 90 Sec.

Now you open internet explorer, the broadband will work DIRECTLY.

Step-7: if you select bridging, on clicking next, new window named Unselect the check box below to disable this WAN service will be opened. Click next.

New window named WAN Setup Summary will be opened. Click on save. Now you will see initial window i.e. window mentioned in step-4, click on save/reboot option ,modem will reboot in 90 sec.

Now create a dial up connection and enter user name and password given by BSNL and enjoy internet explorer

NOTE: in pppoe mode user name and password save in modem (always on) while in bridge mode, create a dialup and fill user name and password
    Para two:
    Start Network LAN
    Properties
    Network settings page
    disable IPV6 box.
    select TCP/IP
    select properties
    enter Obtain IP address automatically
