Thread: Tutorial:How to put security in Wifi!

Hey guys!

I saw some thread saying security in wifi or huge bills.may be they get huge bills because they are in PPPoE mode and they use wifi but no security.

I am writing a thread on putting security in wifi.this is special for those who get large bills because of no security in wifi.this will help them setting security in wifi and thus no other can use it.

SO here we go!

Things need: A PC, OS(any), Wifi router and mind.

Time needed: 15-20 Minutes.

Things i used:
OS- Windows 7(this tutorial applies to any OS)
Browser: Internet Explorer(you can use any)
Router:UTSTARCOM WA3002G4

So here are the steps:

1) Open up your Browser.I used Internet Explorer.

2) Type in the address bar the following: 192.168.1.1



3) A dialog asking username and password will appear.type ur username and password for accessing it.the default ones are username-admin and password-admin.



4) Go to Wireless tab and select security.



5) Then make changes on the page as the following:



6) Go to Management>Save/Reboot>Save/Reboot and reboot ur modem.



the next time u access wifi u will need to enter the password.now no one access ur wifi till he/she knows ur password.

You have more images ? Feel free to post.

Tutorial is very good and simple enough to understand.

@Imrock
I suggest you see the "Archives" and select the subject and post new threads , in different forums. your post should be well written, ( MIn 120 words), and easy to understand by newbies.

Type in in Notepad/ and save with new thread title. Off line.
Cool Off for a day , and if you think you can add new points add them, and then post your NEW threads. ( Watch topstats every morning!).
Keep the articles ready .

How about disqualifying previous month's winners for the thread contest ?!!!!!!

i will post images from now in tutorials if u can understand better.

It is always better to post images. When you post simply do not copy the link address instead, download it and then upload in any image hosting site like tinypic.

Good work... Yes, a picture represents thousand words... Hence, to use it judicially in the tutorials make sense... Also, I read somewhere that lately Google has started giving preferences to images as well... It's customizing the search results to display little images along with the links.
