Those who don't have big amount RAM installed in their systems know the value of RAM. All application when they are running do the processing in the RAM and leave the RAM when the work is done by the application. If sufficient space is not available in RAM for the applications it affects the performance of the application.
Majority of programs vacate the unused RAM when they are minimized to taskbar, but same is not the case with Firefox. Firefox don't vacate the unused RAM when it is minimized to the taskbar.
This tweak will make firefox to return unused RAM when it is minimized to taskbar like other applications do.
Step 1: Open firefix and type "about:config in address bar and hit enter.
Step 2: Accept the security warning by clicking "I'll be careful, I promise" button if any.
Step 3: Now right click anywhere in that page and create a new entry of Boolean type and name it "config.trim_on_minimize" and click ok again select true and click ok. You can see the new entry has been added to the list.
