    Default Wi Fi speed!

I have BSNL broadband conn with DNA-A211-1 wi fi router.I connect using the wi fi on my laptop.the speed in indicated as 54Mbps.but when I connect with RJ45 Lan cable the speed increases to 100 Mbps.the router has provision fr 4 LAN connections.how does the speed come down to 54 in wi fi mode? of course 54mbps is also fast enough. Is this the DL( downloading speed)?or it is adifferent value?

further I find that if I forget to switch off the router bytes are downloaded even if the laptop is shut down.it is indicated in the bytes downloading log which i check periodically.in 1 hour about 12 to 15 mb is indicated.how this can happen when the laptop is off? i wish somebody throws some light on this?I shall be very thankful.

    Default

WIFI has ability to connect only or less than 54 Mbps depending on strength of network you are getting and LAN at 100 Mbps.
This does not effect your download speed using any one.
but if you are using internet of more than 54 Mbps (which i think not possible) then it will be affected.

If you have limited downloads then do not use pppoe mode use bridge mode.
