    Default Can not secure network

    Hi guys,
I got a belkin wireless router today and was trying to set it up. I have made the necessary connections and have used the disk included for the setup and security setup. According to the software my network is secured but i can connect to my network through the laptop with out entering any password or anything...

    am i missing something?

    rajan

PS: you must have guessed, i am a total noob in networks.

    Check here.
Click the WIFI icon is Taskbar.
    Select
    "Show available wireless Networks '
IF your WIFI named " belkin" or some other name is shown as secured
    no need to worry.

ELSE you have to set up a security key WPA in your Belkins Wireless router.
    Mention model and make /number.
if other wifi networks also shown , may show secured unsecured.

    thanks mate.

Under wireless networks, i see many networks, one of them is Rajan (that is what the network is called)

i see that network as unsecured.

I will try manual security setup...

PS: Box just says G wireless router. No model number as such.

While setting up the router you you might be asked to enter SSID that will be your broadcast name of your network.... might "rajan".

    @rajan1311
    Access point configuration
    1. Open a Web Browser
    2. In the address bar type the ip address of your access

    point.
Note: By default the ip address is http://192.168.2.254
    3. Click on Security in the left hand column under

    Wireless
    4. Enter your password if any and click Submit
    5. Select WPA-PSK (no server) from the Security Mode

    section
Note: If you have a RADIUS infrastructure, select WPA

    (with Radius Server)
    6. Enter your Pre-shared Key
Note: You can mask your Pre-shared Key by selecting

    Obscure PSK
    7. Click on Apply Changes
Belkin : Support : Configure WPA Wireless Security with the 54g Access Point
    Network adapter configuration
    If needed

Belkin : Support : Configure WPA Wireless Security with the 54g Access Point
If you can access any other WIFI unsecured network and surf the Internet, your WIFI may be also accessed.
Hope you are on U/L plan !
