Thread: Using LAN and Wi fi!

I have BSNL Wi Fi BB con with DNA-A211-1 Modem which provides wi fi and also 4 LAN slots fr RJ45 cable.I find that I am not able to access wifi when another PC is connected thru RJ45 cable.Can anybody familiar with DNA-A211-1 router clarify why this so?both will not work simultaneously is it?

1.
You have to connect in "AlwaysON" PPP/PPPoE
mode ( userId/PW entered in modem WAn page )
Enable DHCP in the modem/router.

In both systems
Start/network/ Lan or WLAN
properties
Network settings page opens
click tcp/ip
Properties
Select Obtain Ip address automatically
Use DNS ( exisiting entries ) or
8.8.8.8 and 208.67.222.222
Apply Save.
Now you can connect desktop in lan mode. and laptop in wifi mode.

Test laptop in lan Mode.
disconnect Rj45 from laptop
Test in WIFI mode.

security
Ensure you use security key.
Now any number of laptops with wlan card
can pick up wifi signals of your internet connection within range and surf/download
IF you dont' use security key.
