    Exclamation Multiple simultaneous wireless connections

    Hey,

I have a BSNL EVDO and a Tata Photon Plus wireless connection.

I was wondering if there is anyway of using both the connections simultaneously.

I have a dell studio 1555 laptop and serious habit of tinkering

Any help would be really appreciated!

    Cheers.

PS: dont ask why I have two connections, long story....

if you have USB ports can connect both modems, and check in
    Network settings page.
Have not seen either unit !
Don't expect speed to be ADDED.

Two connections will not work simultaneously. So there is no question of adding bandwidth.

I have two connections - BSNL BB (wired) and Reliance Netconnect+.

The connection that is initiated (connected) first takes over. The second connection stays connected but unused. If the first connection disconnects for any reason, the second connection takes over automatically.

Now this is one thing that I do not get....
when ppl say BW does not get added in any sense....or one can not get a big fat pipe of BW by adding two smaller ones...
but if i have 2 nic's with different internet connection and running vmware(for the second nic)
can i download something thru windows connection(nic 1)
and at the same time browse with the vmware linux(nic2)
so what i'm getting here is not 1 * 512 kbps line but 2 * 256 kbps....isint this the case??

    1.
Connect both ISP's to SINGLE computer/
    2.
Install two NIC cards.. Give type number /manufacurer details.
    3
    .Post ipconfig /all data.
    4.
    Check speed at
    http://speed.airtelbroadband.in
Using One ISP and then connect both ISP.
    post data.

an ounce of practice is worth a ton of theory

Two or more connections can work with multiple NICs as essbebe said. But each will work indendently.

The multiple connection will not add together to make a fat (wider) internet pipe.

What I mean is, if you are downloading file it will not be downloaded twice as fast because you have two internet connections of the same speed.
