Arrow Steps to connect to internet via WIFI in Bridge Mode

Steps to connect to internet via WIFI

1. Connect to WIFI router

1. Some computers connect automatically. The only thing that you have to do is make sure the wireless in your computer is turned on. There should be a button with an indicator light near your keyboard.

2. If you are using OS older windows XP, open your start menu and find network or internet connections. There should be an option for wireless that you can click. Your computer will search for wireless connections and you will be offered a list of options. Find the connection in the list for the location that you are at. Once you click it you will be connected.

3. For wireless connections that have passwords the wireless wizard is your best option. When asked, enter the password of the WIFI you have set in the modem. If you do not remembered it, just goto http://192.168.1.1 ,and enter username - admin, password - admin, and check for the password of the Wifi router.

2. Create a connection on PC

1. Goto Network connections>create new connection in control Panel.

2. Select connect to internet between the options provided.

3. Select Broadband in the sub-menu.

4. Enter user-name and password for your connection, you can also give the name to the connection as you want.

5. Click on Connect/Finish.

That`s it.

I had read in one of the threads that only one computer can be connected through bridge mode and if multiple computers are to be connected than PPPoE mode is the only option.
So can I switch my router to Bridge Mode and connect one laptop through wireless and other through wired connection?
My router is Dlink DSL2640T.

Why don't you try both options, and confirm the results here.
TEST 1 :
Desktop in Dialer"Bridged" Mode. LAN port. Result.. Internet connected.
..TEST 2 :
laptop in Dialer "Bridged" Mode LAN PORT Result :Internet connected.
....TEST 3
desktop as in step 1 Laptop in wifi mode .
Result :
Internet connected to both ???
...... Test 4 :
Desktop in "Always On" PPPoE mode.
DHCP enabled.
connected in LAN mode.
Laptop in wifi mode.
Result: Both systems connected to Internet .

Please mention

Modem - model and make. Or try portforward.com. Select the tutorial for your modem.

@report
PPPoE means your UserID/PW entered/stored in modem. ( some users mean "Dialer" mode )
In Modem:
Select Advanced options
select NAT
select Virtual server or
Port triggering
( DMZ also available . but not safe )
Enter port numbers
IP will be your computer's say 192.168.1.X.
( modem 192.168.1.1)

As suggested above , in portforward.com
from the router's list select your Modem
The select your application say Utorrents.
follow instructions.

POLL ends April 10th . Please VOTE
This is where all settings are accomplished to network sharing, I guess on your router selection will be on Bridging which is meant for single pc now change it to PPP over ethernet and leave everything as it is and click next..[/quote[/IMG]
