I have attached a screenshot of my zte config page
please help, i tried using the help of previous posts but i dont have disconnect button in my page

In which mode are you- Bridge or PPPoE???
In PPPoE mode:
Use : Port Forwarding Software 3 MB
In Bridge mode- Most of the ports are open so no required.

this is the one i use to open my modem config page
192.168.1.1 doesnt work for me.

First tell me in which mode are you- Bridge or PPPoE?
Bridge means you dial connection from PC and PPPoE means modem automatically dials the connection.

If you cannot able to open 192.168.1.1 then do a modem reset.

No Portforwarding needed in "Dialer' Mode.
if you are on "Always On" PPP/PPPoE mode

No one can help you better than me as I have same modem running with same firmware. Ok, to the point;

Port forwarding in ZTE ZXDSL831AII is very easy once you know there is separate modem configuration page for advanced settings particularly for this modem.

The default configuration page accessed by http://192.168.1.1 redirects you to http://192.168.1.1/home.html which just contain few basic setup options. To access it with advance options, put '1' in between home and .html that is http://192.168.1.1/home1.html

Then go to Configuration>Advanced Security
You will see port forwarding option under 'Virtual Server Configuration'



Select 'Port forwarding' and click on 'add' button to set port forwarding rules.



Note that as port forwarding is not required in 'Dialer' mode, you can not access these options while in dialer mode (of course there is no need of such!). But for torrents to work well in 'Always On' mode, port forwarding is must and so you can do that while using Always On mode as described.

and is in bridged mode, can u please tell me if torrents can get good speed in my condition as i only get upto 150kbps, whereas i should get around 220 to 240 kbps

i had registered at bsnl's "selfcare " site to get my portal id
as the bsnl guys told me that this is the new method to get u portal id and til now i have not received my password in my email

limit the upload speed to less than 15 KB/s as download speed will suffer because of uploads.Use port 6969.set upload slots to 4.
Use private trackers to download the torrents like Demonoid or torrentleach or any just search on google. As they give great speeds on torrents.
From my side, I suggest you to use BitSpirit instead of uTorrent.

What port should i use for incoming connection , currently the port for incoming connections is 58103.can u tell me in bridged mode which port is possibly open for my modem
and how to download from demonoid or leachtorrent as it requires username and password

Simply change to Bridge mode. All ports are open by default. All you need is to use a good firewall.

In bridge mode all ports are open....
You can use anyone.

You have to create a account there. And then you can able to download torrents from there. But remember that the private trackers requires to maintain good upload to download ratio. If your ratio decreases from the required ratio then your account will be deleted in next 2 weeks if you have not gained good ratio again.

Just go to http://www.btracs.com/ and see the latest private tracker sites that are now open for signup.

Any one can download torrents of demonoid without any registeration.Only you need is torrent file.Just search torrents on torrentz.

i have not received my portal id password yet, i have registered at selfcare.wdc.bsnl.co.in and created an account but stil i have not received my password
i have approached many bsnl staffs but no help
do u know any way to complain against bsnl or report to bsnl main center so that they can do it

You can complain to Nodal officer or Appellate authority. Address and telephone no on the backside of your bill.

i wana ask u guys that my internet speed is not crossing 150 kbps mark
whereas i should get a max speed of around 240 kbps as i got a 2 mbps connection
