Thread: Tiny URL

Although I have used tiny URL and see many others using it, apart from the fact that it gives a much shorter url for long url's, what are the other advantages if there are any?

Ive also seen some domains using the actually tiny URL, why is this?

It helps in sharing the links...
With coming of twitter, such services have become more popular.
Nowadays, even many of the news/blog sites are switching to short urls of their own mainly because it helps in tweeting...
