Now a days Many ISP's are throttling/limiting speeds for things like bit-torrent.
Now i am someone who never used torrents, simple coz i have premium RS accnt. But many folks arnd here are fans of P2P sharing. most of the times P2P has pirated stuff, but many services like Linux distributions uses torrents for sharing their releases.
While browsing aimlessly i came across the Glasnost.
This is really cool site. If u think ur not really getting max speed for P2P apps or normal HTTP download or for falsh vids, then go tot the site & run the test.
URL:Code:http://broadband.mpi-sws.org/transparency/bttest.php
it will take 500secs of ur time & little bandwidth. I tried to run test for the flash vids, but got some errors in it. I Will try to take test later.
anyways i will ask ppl (from diff ISPs) to run tests (in case they have doubt) & post the results here. That way we will know what ISPs are really doing.
Logik
PS: its good idea to close all the programs accessing net, while the test is in progress for best results.
