Thread: Port Forwarding Help for Zylog Wi5 Connection

hi,

recently switched to Zylog Wi-5 1mbps provided with ARGtek CPE2512 Device (Long Distance Wireless lan Outdoor Integrated Solution) made in taiwan... is it a router? help needed on how to forward port for this device...thx

seems to be PoE ( ower over ethernet) model.
Downlooad user manual here.
try to access the menu pages with default ID blank and Password blank.
Please post as screen shot Jpg picture s annexure menu page.
Procedure.
Whenyou reply select "Go advanced "
scroll down the Page.
Select "manage attachments "
Upload the router page saved as jpg from your computer's location.
Say C:/My documents/ pictures/Zylog router.

If you can access the menu pages of the PoE (power over ethernet ) modem,you have to connect in "AlwaysON" mode PPP/PPPoE ( userid and PW entered in wan page).
If you have to use a "dialer ( userid and PW) entered in window of computer, no port forwarding needed.

cant login into router setting page with ma' user id n pass...access denied..manual says id n pass as 'empty'...what shud i do? btw, sorry for l8 replies mate

"empty" means no details to be entered.
When connected to Internet
get this ipconfig /all data and copy/paste here.
Procedure:'Start RUN type cmd

tried it with <empty> (no pass or user id) earlier...cannot login..

Presume you entered 192.168.1.254 in address bar.
( PoE router/unit access address )
If USERID and PW either blank or admin admin etc does not work
Zylog must have used a special ID.
This unit is same as others except power to the unit is given in same RJ45
cable. ( like old TV Antenna Boosters ribbon cable was used )
2. Confirm you have to log in to access Internet.
3.Presume you don't need WiFi mode.
4. Ask Zylog CC MI5 for assistance.
5. I could see the network in Chennai in my laptop wifi, but could not access
and my neighbours used it without any additional unit or antenna mounted .
If wifi unit not available Zylog provides an adapter.

In our flats, one user was having WIFI access.
No modem/wifi router or antenna provided.

Option 1:

When connected to Internet check
What Is My IP Address? Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more...
say EXAMPLE: 117.23.34.45
retype it in browser address bar.
You may get a window to log in modem/router .
as per manual ( link given here )
Both UserId and PW boxes blank. ( No entry)

Option 2:

Check default gateway from ipconfig /all

Option 3:
send PM ( private message to member sen_d85)
seems inactive now.

Option 4:
if you use a dialer to connect, and cannot access the menu pages of the modem/router , may be Zylog has changed the ID/PW.
ask customer care.
Usually RESET is suggested, but do not try.
