Thread: Selecting internet connection..

A friend of mine wants to get an internet connection. He has got a laptop (but he doesn't move around much). His internet usage requirements are limited to social networking sites. I use BSNL broadband which he doesn't want and I don't have much experience of internet cards and mobile internet.
Can you please help me selecting a right internet device for him?
He has got BSNL mobile connection. Which will be the best choice for him:
1. Internet cards. (If yes which one is good?)
2. Mobile internet. (If yes, for BSNL do we need 3G? Can we get moderate speed using internet via GPRS?)
3. Any other option?

1. If your friend has a 3G enabled phone he can use 3G. A friend of mine is using 3G and is quite happy with the performance.

2. If you want an unlimited connection, choose BSNL EvDO. Get a demo at your place before opting it.

3. You can also try Reliance net connect or Tata Photon Plus.
