Thread: Cannot open certain sites. Please help

I have been using my BSNL broadband through ethernet and recently shifter over to wireless. I'm facing a certain type of problem ever since then. i cannot access some sites such as the ones pertaining to "cisco" and "texas hold'em poker" on facebook. My signal strength is excellent. Everytime I change over to the ethernet, i can access the sites without any difficulty. Please try and troubleshoot my problem. I'm using ZTE's ZXDSL - 831 AH which I have connected to a D-Link DIR-600 (wireless 150) router.

In the TCP/IP properties of your connection in laptop use the following DNS values.

208.67.222.222, 8.8.8.8.

1.copy/paste lipconfig /all
for only LAN and WLAN mode.

Since you say In LAN mode all websites are available,
Connect from lan1 or Lan2 of Dir-600 also and check.
If OK may be wifi settings have to be checked again.

In wifi copy the web site address to tinyurl.com and re enter.
( Proxy Mode ) does the web site work now ?

Another option is to use Opera Turbo browser. ( usually recommended by @meetdilip)

Feedback item wise.

1. Well i tried by changing the DNS and it didn't make any difference.
2. When i connect my laptop thru ethernet from the wireless router ethernet, I'm still facing the same problem i.e. pages are not loading. However, when i connected it thru ethernet but this time from the BSNL's provided modem (ZXDSL-831 AH), pages did load.
3. The Cisco sites do open thru various proxies when I'm using wireless.

1. Try Opera Turbo and check. Usually it works in such cases.

2. Clear browser cache and try.

Tried using Opera Turbo. Surprisingly, the cisco sites are now loading. But games on facebook "poker" are still a problem even with Opera turbo. Any fix?

1. Are you sure that you changed the DNS setting in your laptop. It could be the only possible reason if the site is not loading in wifi.

2. Disable firewall/antivirus and try.

3. Post the feedback as requested above.
