Thread: Xavi X7721r+ Port Forwarding

Hello,

Playing FIFA 11 on GameRanger requires forwarding UDP port 16000. I have a Xavi X7721r+ modem.
In the portforward.com tutorial for Xavi X7721r+ (exact same model), there is an extra setting 'NAPT' in the advanced settings, whereas, on my modem settings page I only have 3 options - Static Routes, DNS Relay and Security. I'm clueless as to why this is so. This is how my advanced settings box looks like:

-DNS Relay
-Security

Is there any other method to forward the port? Or does this mean I have to update firmware? Please help me.

If you are on Dialer Mode Select PPP over Ethernet mode and recheck.

When I select PPP over Ethernet mode, I can see the NAPT page in Advanced Settings. Now, I see ppp-0 in the Name column of the NAPT status. In the portforward.com guide, the NAPT appears even when this mode is not selected. So they see, rfc1483-0 in the name column. So I can't see Add Reserved Mapping in the NAT column. Please help.

Can you now connect to Internet without using the Dialer , in computer window ?

yes: ALL ports are open no need to set PF.

After selecting PPP over ethernet, did you complete the process by adding userid/pw etc in wan page etc and then reboot the modem.?

-I have to dial. My static IP is 192.168.1.5.
-All of my ports are not open (Used a port checker).
-I have given full access to the network applications (FIFA 11 and Gaming client) in my firewall settings.
-I can play other games without enabling NAT.
-I have entered my username and password during the enabling of PPPoE mode. I don't understand why the guide shows rfc1483-0 in the NAT settings. I can only see ppp-0 in the NAT settings page. Thank you for your time.

Disable Dialer in computer.
Disable/ un check rfc1483-0 in modem
and enable "Always On." PPP over ethernet mode.

I do not know how to Disable the Dialer. Also, how to enable Always on for PPPoE (Sorry, my knowledge regarding computer networking is really bad)?

But this was to check whether all my ports or open or not right? Some ports are not open. Also, when I select Bridge with NAT in modem settings instead of only Bridge then I cannot open any site.

Try to Save present setting /BACKUP from modem menu
to say C:/MY Documents/ XAVI on dialup mode.

Hi, I want to share an important info abt this router.

Some times when you configure PPPoe mode on this router you get the internet but you wont be able to browse few sites. Ex ; camfrog, yahoo mail etc

The configurations needs little tune up. Here is what you need

1. Configure the modem for pppoe as usual.

2. Configure RFC1483 Bridge with NAT as well

3.Enable NATPT for both the connections from Advanced connections.
