Default How to make Netgear wgr614v10 as repeater when 450bx1 is the router

    Hello,

I have a Beetel 450bx1 router whose coverage is disappointing, I have a spare netgear wgr614v10 router which I wish to use as a wifi repeater to extend the range of the router.

I am a noob in this field, so could someone guide me on how to do the same ?

    Thanks
    Singh

    1.
Ensure you get wifi mode in your laptop. with( Beetel450BXI)
If your OS is windows 7 download application
    "connectify"
    2.
Check whether you can pick up different wifi SSID's

    3.
Connect from LAN1 or LAN2 rj45cable to the Netgear
Internet (WAN port ) use the wizard.

    4.
    mention distance/height involved.

    5.
Both wifi routers cannot "handshake " in wifi mode.

    6.
Check wa3002-g4 link below to set up Beetel450BXI.
    7.
    Any additional information from you.

Reply item wise for further suggestions.

If your OS is windows 7 download application
    "connectify"
    Using Vista

    2.

am able to connect to net with 450bx1

    3. Connect from LAN1 or LAN2 rj45cable to the Netgear
Internet (WAN port ) use the wizard.
there is an issue with the netgear wizard and the net doesn't work, should I enable dhcp or not ? what should be the ip addresses ? et

    4. mention distance/height involved.
    10-20m/same floor

    5. Both wifi routers cannot "handshake " in wifi mode.

Check in Broadband How to ....."forum a guide by @just4kix
for using Netgear wgr614v9 wifi router. try Download direct.
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/attach...r-wgr614v7.zipl

The IP address is normally given in the label of the unit. Mine shows 192.168.1.1
You should change it to say 192.168.1.2 or 192.168.2.1
    ( 192.168.1.1 reserved for Beetel 450BX)

    quick points :
    (a)
you should be connected in "Always ON" mode
    ( userId/PW entered in modem 450BXI wan page )

    (b)
Enable DHCP in Beetel 450bXI 192.168.1.3 to .192.168.1.10.

    (c)
screen shots annexed from my working Netgear wifi unit
(i am using different IP's using voip unit also )

    Para two:
    (d)
Try to keep the Beetel 450BX at a higher height.
Position it parallel to the ground and rotate the unit to check
max wifi signals at target area.
    (e)
an additional antenna ( higher gain type can be used )
    (f)
Regarding wds "handshake" will reply later.
( ensure both units are in same channel say Ch11 )
