Hi All,
I am new to this forum but have seen some very useful posts. My question may already been answered somewhere but have not been able to find, please guide.
I have a Beetel 450 BX1 ADSL+Router (1 'Phone Line' port & 4 'LAN Ports') which I was using with MTNL TriCombo Broadband connection. Now I have shifted to WORLD PHONE Cable Broadband and I want to use my same ADSL+Router as wireless router to connect my laptop.
ISP has provided me with a Static IP, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary & Secondary DNS. They have done some settings in my ADSL+Router. The broadband connection comes in a Ethernet Cable, which is inserted to my ADSL+Router's 'LAN1 port'. Another LAN cable connects 'LAN2 port' to my desktop. The TCP/IP settings provided by ISP are maintained in Desktop. The internet works fine.
However, if I want to connect my laptop to internet through my ADSL+Router's WiFi functionality, I need to set same TCP/IP settings provided by ISP in my laptop's 'Wireless Network Connection' and it gives IP Conflict with my Desktop. Effectively I can use only one device at a time. Either my laptop on wireless or Desktop on LAN. ISP person says its not possible with ADSL+wireless router to connect both devices at the same time and that I need a new WAN wireless router. But, I am very sure someone will have some solution for this.
Please suggest.
Just to add - whenever I need to connect to internet, it takes me to WORLD PHONE webpage, where I need to enter my Username & password (provided by ISP).
Junaid
