Question Mysterious Internet connnection loss problem and only on my computer?? please help!!

I have an internet connection directly through cable connected to my LAN port(Realtek RTL8139/810X Family Fast Ethernet NIC) since 2007 summer, there is no modem or router provided, this connection is like sify(sharing internet through LAN); my ISP agent used to provide Sify broadband previously but he switched to Cj-online, a local Delhi-NCR ISP.

Ever since my ISP agent switched to this ISP there have been frequent problems with the internet connectivity, there is no continous connectivity even when my pc successfully connects to the ISP and shows the connection 'on', but my firefox browser keeps on saying ''connecting to website.....'' or ''Looking for website....'', it happens on other browsers too, after a while a page would load and again after 5 seconds the story is same, I can't download anything becasue the internet is not continous it keeps on breaking but still showing 'on'.

The mystery is that few weeks back my ISP's line man checked my connection on his notebook pc and it was working all well, I thought my pc might have a virus then I got it scanned with norton antivirus and malwarebytes, it almost cleaned a lot of viruses and malwares but the problem was still there, fortunately as the days passed on the problem got less frequent and finally very less frequent and I was careless that moment but for the past few days the problem is kicking back and the frequency of connection loss is almost every 5 seconds.

The amazing thing is that I have to visit my ISP's homepage to open my internet connection everytime my internet connection gets lost and after I have logged in and out or just visited/checked my usage summary the connection is regained

My problem is that it seems like a magic that its only hapenning on my pc or the line man is making lame excuses or its any malware or spyware that my anti-virus and anti-spyare softwares are unable to detect!
please suggest me whats the problem and what tests I should make to rectify this problem? thanks

    (A)
    Try driver upgrade for
(Realtek RTL8139/810X Family Fast Ethernet NIC)
    http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0...type=downloads
    (B)
    Check connection in SAFE MODE>
    (C)
    Download CCleaner from http://filehippo.com
    (D)
Nothing much you can do for Intermittent connection with a rj45 connection ( Dialer Mode) direct to your computer.
    (E)
Check speed here twice when connected>

    Smile @essbebe

ok I will try this, Untill now I thought that My NIC wouldn't have a specific driver and its a plug and play..

Its not fast connection just 128kbps, so it promises around 16kbps of download speed and I get 12+ to 15+ kbps but not continuous it keeps on deviating between the 12+ kbps to 15+ kbps mark, I don't want to argue with the agent as he is very rude and arrogant, there is no other internet through cable service in my town this is why he behaves in a very vulgar way with the customers

If you don't mention your location, members cannot suggest alternate ISPs/Plans .
By the way your connection does not qualify as Broadband ( min speed 256 Kbps 32KB/sec)
Ideal conditions 1MB file download in approx say 40 seconds and above )
Speed of surfing/download will vary depending on WEB conditions. .

why he behaves in a very vulgar way with the customers
    Cj-online, a local Delhi-NCR ISP.
Mr. Rajesh Chharia ? A commerce graduate ?

If you have no choice, and he is the ONLY Internet provider !!!

Not even BSNL landline available in your town/village ? and that too in NCR? ( National Capital Region ) Ghaziabad ??

    the location is Delhi-NCR(Ghaziabad).

I also use a data card so it gives me around 512kbps but its very costly and not unlimited..
for unlimited internet that comes under my budget I use this one.

Yes I would be going for BSNL now I think but you know govt. people are even more Lazy and worthless...

he behaves in a vulgar way because he thinks they can't switch to any other ISP as there is no other ISP here
no thats not that branch, the owner for my ISP branch is suresh singh
the main page of that ISP is this one cjnet4u dot com
the agent's line man is very Vulgar, I think he is a partner as well

What will happen if some country attacks us?
All Army/Navy/Airforce, will be loitering around and gossiping because they are lazy and worthless !!!!!!!

Check your usage plan choice /budget here.
    http://210.212.169.201/erp/bbplan.php#

You can be also lazy and book your connection ONLINE here. ( applications done by the "lazy/worthless" Bsnl staff.)
    http://udaan.bsnl.co.in/#
No need to log in ( for Lazy BSNL staff only )
If you are not contacted by an Agent/representative, then make a trip to CC nearest BSNL Exchange.

You can save auto/car/ petrol expenses/
avoid Blood pressure rise in face to face contact ,
as with your cable wallah !!!!.

Which OS do you use ? What error does it gives on disconnection ?

There is a simple way to check if it is related to OS. Use a Linux live CD and check the speed /disconnection. It will pin point if something is wrong with your PC. Try safe mode too. Only drivers essential to work Windows load in safe mode. Check if you are getting disconnection while in safe mode.

Check about BSNL in your area. Lots better when compared to the service you are getting. Try BB Home Combo UL 625 or BB Home UL 499 (with and without free calls) gives 256 Kbps (32 KBps) unlimited.

    This may help

    Unhappy @essbebe

I applied online for their Dataone internet serive online way back in 2006 filled the full application form and there has not been any response since then till today and we have been a bsnl landline customer for the past 18 years

they didn't even change our telephone line wire after even asking them too many times...after being such long customers????

any way i think they must have improved after hiring some new modern day men, so I would give it a try but their usage limits and bad reviws often make me think thrice befor asking for connection....
    @meetdilip
What error does it gives on disconnection ?
I have mentioned that there is no error code or warning, the browser is just stuck saying ''Looking for....'' or ''connecting to...'' frequently and regains after few seconds so no continuity and so no download and headache while browsing!,
there is a loss of ping, ''Request timed out''

I used to rely on it before I ever wished to get a permanant connection, and it was the first connection service that got internet on my pc for the very very first time!
