Question Install Device Driver->Smartax MT882 Modem(Setup Asks To Reboot Repeatedly)

Hi. I Am Trying To Install Device Driver(USB) For Smartax MT882 Modem. The Setup First Screen Asks To Reboot Each Time I Run It. Even After Rebooting It Says The Same. Tried Uninstalling The Device From Device Manager.
Using This Uninstalled Every Instance Of It:
    support. microsoft. com/ kb/ 315539

Device Manager does not display devices that are not connected to the Windows XP-based computer
Tried Installing Device Driver From Device Manager. Device Manager Reports A Driver Timeout Error(Probably Allowing The Software To Install Itself. Don't Know). After That The Device Is Listed Under GlobeSpan Class(What's this?), Then If I Try To Uninstall It, It Doesnt. The Device Is Still Present. I Want To Know If Windows 7 Keeps Some Kind Of Driver/Device Cache/Listing From Where I Can Clear Every Instance Of It For A Clean Install As First Time I Tried Installing XP Driver For It And It Was Not Showing The Reboot Screen(Now That Too Shows The Reboot Screen).

    picasaweb. google. com/ lh /photo /LpRKboTzTBGbGQunxp8iolgKJk-vIbAK17-mM30AHzc?feat=directlink

So Basically I Am Not Able To Install Device Via Device Manager Nor Through The Software. Please Help.

    The Device Manager Status:

Try to rename the USB drivers already installed.

Now without connecting the modem to USB port download the USB drivers to say C:/My Documents/ AXmt 882
Now connect the modem to USB port and restart system
Let Windows detect NEW HARDWARE and search for drivers ( own system files ) or ask you for location.
    Post success or error message.
Give details of present USB drivers.

    Create NEW: SYSTEM RESTORE POINT

TRY Start Search in computer: Globespan
    or in
    C:/Windows/system32/drivers or driverstore.

Source/link: from where you downloaded the drivers ?

    support.microsoft.com/kb%20315539
( post as hxxp or delete http://)
copy paste above without error/correction website will open.

    Post Hardware Installation Doesnt Work

Device Installation Through Installation Eizard Doesnt Work. It Gives Timeout Error. I Would Have Given You Exact Error Message but The Problem Is The Device (Smartax MT882) Is Listed Under Globespan Class Category And Is Not Uninstalling(No Error Message. It Just Doesnt De-Install)

No Driver File Found. Searched The Computer For "gsiNdixx.dll" xx are numbers. The Driver Name In The Installation Directory(Driver Setup) Is gsiNdi So I Searched For That File. Is It The rndismp File? Any Specific Name If You Can Give Of Driver File? I Need To Clean Install It.

Its I Think In Another Language But The Drivers I Cudnt Get For Win7 So I Had To Download These:

Usual procedure is to copy a driver file to another location' Say C:/Backup/usb drivers.
Then delete them from system file
Reinstall new Driver file as per procedure.

Why USB mode . Ethernet not working ? LAN card defective ?

    Smile Yes

Yes I Tried That Driver Link Too....I Have WinXP On The Second One(Win7 On First)....And Yes I Tried Installing The Modem Software On That Too...The Error It Reports Is Some Problem With A File(Which Is Not Of Setup/Driver)....I Looked It Up On Forums(The Reason Of Error) It Says That That Is Caused Due To Newer Version Of Internet Explorer....I Have IE8 Installed On That By Default....I Have No Idea How To Downgrade That(Tried To Remove From Remove Win Components In Add/Remove Programs But It Only Removes The Shortcuts Not The Whole Thing)

    Task one :
Get USB drivers for Huawei AX MT 882
details of the most reliable driver. ( from CalcuttaTelephones web site ?) .

    Task two:
Download different driver files available in net to Hard disk

    Task three :
try to install the drivers in desktop irrespective of OS used.

    task four:
Localise problem and try in computer having OS XP

    Task five:
Assume Windows 7 desktop will not allow in USB mode
( deleting the existing USB drivers later )

    Task six :
Try to install in Desktop with XP
    Upgrade OS to Sp3
Give better details in thread for analysis
IE has got nothing to do with modem functions in USB mode.
Share the information in THIS forum.
    error messages etc.

    Task seven :
Check the modem log for any errror entries.

    Final solutions;
    (a)
Rent a type II /IV modem from Bsnl with 4 lan ports (and wifi if needed).

    Para two;
If you are SURE that If IE8 is the fault, it can be uninstalled.
But the exercise should not go waste./ and not another "wild goose chase"
    Try a diffferent browser.!!!!!

    try this:
Microsoft: Windows XP Pro - BT Voyager 100 newdev.dll error
    knocker01 (TechnicalUser)
    8 Jul 09 9:15
This might be too late for you but if anyone else out there is having this problem here is what I did...
    - download an older version of the "newdev.dll" from newdev.dll free download - DLL-files.com
    - restart and boot into windows in "safe mode with networking"
    - replace the newdev.dll file in windows/system32 with you the older one you just downloaded
    - run the install program for the modem
    - plug in your modem when it asks you to and ignore the couple of error messages you get half-way through
    - when its finished reboot back into windows as normal and hey presto!!!

The problem seems to be with the newdev.dll file but you can't replace it in windows (unless in safe mode) because the windows file protection kicks in and changes it to the original one straight away - hence the need for safe mode.
