I've just received a used Beetel 450TC1 modem that I bought from eBay, but I can't use my BSNL BB connection with it.
Over the years, I've owned and used several different kinds of modem and didn't have any problem setting them up. Right now, I'm using two of them, one each with my two BB accounts.
This is my first time with this particular model, so I guess this question is adressed to those who are familiar with a Beetel 450TC1. This is what I've done so far:
1. The power, WAN, LAN and DSL lights go on when I power it up and connect it to my computer and to a BB phone line.
2. I reset the firmware to factory defaults and then changed these -
-Selected PVC2, which automatically sets VPI/VCI to 0/35
-Encapsulation: PPPoA/PPPoE selected
-Entered Username and Password
-Connection set to "Always on"
-IP address to Dynamic
All other settings are left at default. OS is Windows XP SP2 and I have only the Windows Firewall on.
The Status page shows the status as "Connected" and displays the assigned IP address as 117.199.xx.xxx
The "Internet" light on the modem remains dark and I can't do any browsing.
Any suggestions please? If I've left out any necessary info, please let me know.
