Thread: How to Setup D Link DIR 615 on an MTNL UT 300 R2U

Hello,
I am new to wireless networking and for the life of me i cannot get my MTNL connection on a wireless network, i tried to set it up once but the connection keeps breaking, the MTNL is connected through an ethernet connection with a telephone wire plugged in. Any help on how to setup would be appreciated, i dont know anything about it so please be patient with me..

The major problem for me is that, my mtnl internet is working whenever i plug in the Ethernet cable in my pc/laptop but it breaks when i plug it in the Router which suggests to me that i am setting my router up in a wrong manner. Please all help is appreciated

As you have pre- cautioned, perhaps we are to be cautious not to take firing from you by showing our patience, LoL.

i suggest you to coolly read the installation procedure and set up info from the guide that came along with Dlink DIR615.
Still if you face issues, at lest give details of how you set the units. in brief.
it helps experts to analyse and help you to normalise your Wifi router faster.

First steP:

VPI/VCI for MTNL 0 and 32.
See my signature link wa3002-g4 for different modems.

UT300r2U: Always On Mode
( userid/pw entered/stored in modem wan page)
enable dhcp( in LAN page ) enter 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.10 save reboot wait for two minutes.
Ensure connected to Internet

Second step:
Presume you can access DIR815 menu pages.
see this page. confirm settings are as shown. SAVE settings ( ontop)
Dont enter MAC address

connect RJ45 from Ut300r2U to WAN ( internet port ) of Dir 815.
Another rj45 from LAN1 to computer LAN ( ethernet port)
what is the error message ? or you got connected ?!!!
