Default WiFi Bridge between Beetel 450TC1 and Dlink DSL 2730u

    Hi
I have a Beetel 450TC1 modem/router which came with my airtel connection.
I want to extend the range of the wifi using a new DSL 2730u (d-link)

The dlink has a WPS button but the beetle does not.
I can connect the 2 physically with a cat 6 wire or wirelessly. I dont mind both having 2 separate SSID- A and A II

Please guide me on how to go about it.
So far only the 450TC1 is connected and working without any issues.

    Thanks in advance
    Best
    M

Beetel450TCI does not have WDS mode (confirm)
Beetel 450TCI manual /Firmware : MODEMS & ROUTERS - My Broadband Forum - Broadband Discussion forum

DSL2730U adslmodem+wifi router also does not have
mode WDS ( Wireless Distribution System ) .

Both cannot be used without Rj45 connection.

You can try a Rj45 cable from LAN1 of Beetel450TCI
    to LAN1 of DSL2730 U. and
    check Lan operation from
    Dsl2730U and wifi mode.

Usually in any stand alone wifi router we need a WAN port ( internet port) to make setttings .

Manual is online but i am unable to post the link for it!

    The box calls it a
    Dlink ADSL 2730U Wireless N150 ADSL2+Modem Router

It has a DSL port 4 Lan ports , wps button and wireless on/off button

will try hooking them up using the RJ 45
shall i give the 2730U a new ssid and password?

You can connect ONLY ONE ADSL modem
    or
    ADSLmodem_wifi router bettel 450TCI
    or
    DSl2730U.

If you have additional Phone junction in other rooms
connected ALL telephones AFTER the ADSL splitter,
Now you can connect DIRECTLY Rj11 cable to either unit and set WIFI mode

Only one WIFI router can be used at a time .

NETWORK | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

How many more computers/desktops in use ? and the OS used.

    (1) Once you've created your wired or wireless network, sharing files is pretty simple.
    (2) If you are using Windows, you should first make sure that the "File and Printer Sharing" box is checked.

(3)This option is located in the Properties tab of the the Network Connections Control Panel.
(4)Once file sharing is enabled, you can just right-click the drive, folder, or file you would like to share, and select "Sharing and Security."
(5)Then choose "Share this Folder" or "Share this File," enter any other permissions, and click OK.

(6)To access shared files from a networked computer,
open "My Network Places" and locate the computer's name. (7)Double-click the computer's icon and the list of shared files should show up.
(8)You can drag the shared files onto your hard disk or a folder on your desktop just like you can with local files.

    Hi
As of now the entire network (except the dlink router is set up)
    OS Windows xp
    Desktops 9
    Laptops 3

Internet is available on all machines
(though I want to restrict internet to laptops and 3 desktops but thats another story!!)

Now I want to add the D-link so that my wireless range is wider.
    Thanks

    doh!
    2nd wireless not working
When i try internet also unable to detect any other desktops/laptops
    No lan

    keep getting

"Cannot communicate with Primary DNS server [202.56.230.6]"

all i have done is connect the Dlink to the Beetel through a long cat -6 cable
and given the dlink a different ssid from the beetel

any ideas on how to resolve this?

Confirm you can use both wifi routers , and can pick up SSID's from Dlink 2730U.
In Dlink select option "MER" for vpi/vci 0 and 35
Rest all auto select. wifi settings as usual.

    LAN1 from Beetel450TCI to Dlink 2730U Lan 1.
You can connect desktops to lan2 Lan3 and Lan4.

    2. Confirm Firmware version of Beetel450TCI and check in
Wireless settings WDS mode is available.
You can upgrade the firmware,If Dlink2730U has the WDS option.

Also in Dlink 2730U Check WDS mode is available.

Then both can be connected without Rj45 cable only for WIFI mode.
