I have a laptop for my bro and a desktop for me and a NOKIA SIEMENS NETWORKS 1600 RESIDENTIAL ROUTER MODEM

PROBLEM: I want to use internet on both laptop and desktop at the same time
what changes should should be made in routers settings?

my brother laptop has WiFi and i have broadband

also my internet light of modem is not on i want in on please help!!

Check security key typed correctly.

Do you get connected in LAN mode with both machines
to Internet at the same time ?

Have you connected LAN cable to Laptop, while trying for WIFI ?
Mention your OS: Windows 7/Vista/XpSP3

Which website link you selected for setting up your connection ?

Do you get any other wifi SSID's secured/unsecured ?

In Wireless 1 screen shot, check the box near to " Enable Wireless ". Presume you did already that.

Your modem has same interface as BSNL supplied UTSTARCOM WA3002G4. So you can counter check the settings using this guide

How do you connect to internet now ? Where you and your brother able to access net at the same time (using different LAN ports ? ). Do you use a dialer where you input ID and password into the dialer and click " connect " to access internet ?

Remove encryption and check. You can later add encryption if your systems are connected at the same time (one using ethernet and another using WiFi).

thank you all for helping me i don't know what setting i`ve changed suddenly laptop got connected to internet i wanna know should i disable ppp debug mode and Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports (Default Enabled) or it has nothing to do with connectivity issue and i have number o questions

1 manual connect ?
2 Dial on demand (with idle timeout timer)?
3 PPP IP extension?

OK. No problem. Thanks for feedback.
The settings you had mentioned are correct for normal working.
There are many variables in modem/router settings, which are normally left in default condition.

Practical way:
After gettting the modem/router to work
and create a Back UP file for future use.

experiement withONE setting at a time. Reboot.
If connection lost , you know this is not needed!!
If connection remains go for the next change !!!
If nothing works RESET and restart from beginning!!!!
Restore Backup file!!

i am getting multiple networks when i connect to broadband is it normal? and when i click see full map it shows following: windows cannot create map for the selected type of network.

Check if you LAN adapter is shared. Disable it and check.

Post a screen shot of " Network connections " page.

i downloaded TCP optimizer and restore windows default settings after reboot it worked thanks to all Guides and Forum Members
