    Default Data Usage Monitor

I have a Reliance data card. There are 2 different volume based plans, one for the day & one for the night. I am looking for a software which will help me keep track of the usage during day and night. I have tried many different programs, but the all give the total usage for the whole day / week / month. I need something where I can monitor usage for different times per day. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance

As far as I know, there is no tool that gives different sets of data with a single instance for the same adapter. The best way out is to use two tools and enable them only when the respective plan is active. You can use Shaplus bandwidth meter. It has settings to ignore usage during a particular time (say 10 pm to 6 am). Use another bandwidth meter like Networx or Bitmeter to measure usage during Shaplus ignored slot. Networx can also ignore certain time slot. Use it to measure data during day time (say 6 am to 10 pm).

Make sure that you choose proper adapter from settings of bandwidth meter.

    Default Catch 22 Situaion here

Thanks for the reply. I have been using Bandwidth Monitor for many years now. It gives the same results but is much simpler than Networkx. OK Problem 1 - One plan - 6 AM to 10 PM. 2nd plan - 10 PM to 6 AM. Now Networkx will give me the complete daily usage details ( which I am getting fro BWM anyway), there is an option in Networkx to select timings as ON Peak / OFF Peak and Un metered. I can select the time I do not want to meter my usage (colored boxes). But I have to use another usage monitor (Shaplus) to monitor my usage for the night plan. (Assuming I have Networkx monitoring my day time plan). The catch here is that it is not within a 24 hour time frame. Hope you get where I am coming from. It's a bit tricky but I think it is possible. Have to experiment and tinker around a bit. Thanks for the reply. Any further suggestions are most welcome.

    One plan - 6 AM to 10 PM. 2nd plan - 10 PM to 6 AM
Sorry, didn't get you. What do you mean by not within a 24 hour time frame ?

Simply set ignore timings on both meters. What is so tricky in this ? Takes less than 2 minutes. Use all 3 if you wish so.

it doesn't matter with networx.for 6AM-10PM select on peak, for 10PM-6AM select off peak.you will get yellow entries for on peak & green entries for off peak timing in hourly usage.click on daily report then click on display icon.you will get option to show daily report as on peak or off peak or total.if you select on peak daily report will show you the total of only on peak hours.similarly you can see only total of off peak hours in a day.

    @zamlock
You are using BM for years !!!!
    What exactly you want ?
You don't need NetworX to record your usage data within
    a H24 time block ?
The night usage is FREE ??

or still you want Night usage details
As suggested use two meters NetworX and Shaplus.

Hope you get where I am coming from.
What this has to do with your requirement ? Hostel ? sharing connection with a friend ?
    Feedback.

    Default Clarifications

Thanks to all for their replies. Day time usage plan is from 6 AM to 10 PM within that particular date. Night time usage is from 10 PM to 6 AM till the next day. Total usage is 5 GB each for the day and 5 GB for the night (as long as do not cross the limit). So I want to be able to monitor cumulative usage during the day for the billing cycle and the cumulative usage for the night during the billing cycle. Shaplus works within the 24 hour period (particular day). I can set it to monitor say from 6 AM to 10 PM. How can Networx help to monitor from 10 PM to 6 AM till the next day?. I think it has to do with the color matrix. I am using this purely at home on a single PC running Win 7 HP. Bandwidth Monitor is a very good program (version 354 - build 757), but it gives me the total usage for the particular day (24 hour period) and of course weekly and monthly. It does not have have an option to monitor specified times though.

    @ zamlock

    Check this guide below

    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...unlimited.html

It explains how to disable Networx at during a particular time. All you need to do is change the ignore timings from 6 am to 10 pm. So Shaplus (as shown above) will give readings from 6 am to 10 pm and Networx for 10 pm to 6 am. Hope it is clear now. If still in doubt, post here, we will be more than happy to help.
