Take the old one and compare ratings.
Check the Plug matches the original one.

until then you can use a 6V 3.6 ah battery maintaining the polarity, it works
Even i venture to tap Gnd and +5V from my desktop and use a ready moulded DC cable and manage. no need for another adopter.
that way even we can manage 12v also
one should have facility and method of taping this with help from local techie, we can arrange a insulated socket for taping for our modem needs.
