    Default D-Link 2750u Help !

    Hi all
I have a D-Link 2750u Modem/Router and I am facing a few problems. It would be great if you could help me out.
    1. I can't connect my Samsung SCX-4601 USB printer through the routers printer port.
    2. I have a Seagate GoFlex 1TB external. Connecting to the USB port of the router I can access only through \\192.168.1.1\u_disk\usb1_1\ But the stream speed is very slow.
    3. I cant update to the new firmware 1.10 provided in the D-link site.
    4. I have a Macbook Pro with wireless N support. How can I achieve maximum speed with my USB storage sharing.

    Thank You

    Regards

    Deepak Jaju

I am not sure how you got the idea of connecting USB line from printer to the USB port of DLink 2750U. It is for connecting your modem to PC using USB cable and does not support printer.

May I know what you are trying to achieve ? If you are planning to access printer wirelessly, you may need a Wireless printer server. Or you can simply keep the desktop connected to printer and use the printer from laptop as network printer.

    Hope this helps.

Basically this model is similar to WA3002_g4/beetel450BXi etc with additional facilities.

An attractive feature with the DSL-2750u is its built-in USB port. There are not many ADSL Modem Router from Reputed brands with the built in USB support. You can connect an external hard disk and share your files with it. Or you connect a printer that supports USB connectivity, and print from any device in your home network.
I can't connect my Samsung SCX-4601 USB printer through the routers printer port.
Reason ? Cable problem? additional software required ?
    (c)
But in this model (additional) menu Item INTERFACE grouping is available. Can check the options here. for printer.
    (d)
Confirm the Samsung SCX4601(USB)PRINTER can work normally, bypassing DSL2750U,
with required software settings etc to USB port of system.

    Feedback.

    Dilip,
I have an ADSL2+ modem router. It has a separate USB port which is specifically for Printer and Storage sharing.
I am not able to setup my printer using this port. My printer is a Samsung SCX-4601. Which seriously is a mistake of a printer.
    Anyways..
    Can u help me...
Also my hdd sharing through the usb works but the speed is utterly slow. Very bad for an N300 router.

Hey.. Thanks a lot for the info..
Will try it tonight and get back to you with the result.
Can u help me in two other places pls.
1.) My speed is very slow when i stream videos through the usb hdd sharing port of the router. The manual says its a N300 router. But doesnt act like one. I attached my Seagate GoFlex 1 TB in it.
2.) Also the range is horrible any tweaks on that ?

    Thanks

The speed is based on your Tariff plan. 2 Mbps means 256 KB/sec.
Streaming video should work without buffering with above speed.
    Check in LAN mode.

In Wireless Mode, the wireless lan adapter may not be compatible for
higher data transfers. ( usually 54 Mbps/108 Mbps.
Check in tcp/ip properties page top box details of WLAN card.
    Try tcp/ip optimizer from speedguide.net.
The manual says its a N300 router. .....
Not clear. Dlink DSL2750u is a N300 wifi router ??

Wifi Range upto 20 to 30 feet radius of activity in our houses/flats
should be possible.Position at a higher level the wifi router, near a window.

Have you found the solution for the update not working..., also tried to download product manual from Dlink india website @ D-Link Wireless N ADSL2+ 4-Port Wi-Fi Router instead of 2750u the link downloaded 2640U. Eventually had to look for the CD.

I think Dlink website is not managed well, and the firmware image file may itself be corrupt.

I am struggling to get my Seagate 1Tb 3.5" external USB working with this modem router.

I can't connect my Samsung SCX-4601 USB printer through the routers printer port.

    How to Connect a Printer to a D-Link Router | eHow.com
    HARD disk

    Plug-in the USB drive.
    2. Switch on/Restart the model-router.
    3. Wait for a few minutes till it finishes all the negotiations, etc.
I would say five minutes is a good time to give it.
    4. Make sure the USB Icon on your modem is lit.
    5. In windows explorer - type the following path to access your hard drive

    \\192.168.1.1\u_disk\usb1_1\

where the IP address is the IP address of your modem -
    default is 192.168.1.1.

If all goes well, you should be able to see your hard drive contents now!
A good idea would be to map this location with "Map Network Drive"
so you can access it easily whenever you want.

I also have purchased the D-link DSL-2750u last week. Afterwards i found out there is an USB port. Tried my seagate 250 GB, working ok, but the transfer rate is around only 2 MBps even when connected by the 10/100 LAN port. Then i updated the firmware from D-link website
    Code:
    ftp://support.dlink.co.in/broadband/DSL-2750U/firmware/DSL-2750U_IN_1.10_B038_K8B_0K-IN-00-2916_20110822.zip
but the speed is still the same. Otherwise everything is OK.

(for firmware update, unzip the archive, you'll get an .img file. Connect the device with wired LAN only, don't try update with WiFi. Access modem by typing 192.168.1.1 in browsers address bar, username and password both are 'admin'. Go to Maintenance > Firmware update > browse the .img file and click update. WARNING - updating takes about 4-5 minutes, don't be impatient, don't turn off or power down the device. If you do so, the device will be worth the same as a brick and the warranty will be void)

I have found and updated the firmware from the very link you provided.
    Go to support > Firmware

And all my storage device is working with it (although the transfer speed is very slow). Just followed the instruction above by 'essbebe'

I am still searching for a solution, but it seems to me that the hardware on the modem-router is itself slow.
