Thread: How to configure Netgear WGR614V9 WIFI router

Hi All,

I have BSNL broadband and used to connect before thru a speedtouch Thomson modem through a LAN cable (ethernet).
Now I want to make it wifi and have got a Netgear WGR614V9router.

1) Do I still need the speed touch modem?
2) How do I configure the Wifi internet connectivity?

Have a "deko" at this guide. Ignore the adsl modem part.

Briefly :Present adsl modem in PPPoE mode ( ID/PW stored in modem )
DHCP enabled.
Netgear First answer "No" Select Dynamic IP. etc.

the speedtouch modem model is 534 v6. Anyway the steps you suggested disnt work for me. any alternative plz?

.Task 1 :
Speedtouch 534 v6. adsl modem
Confirm you followed the suggestions in Post No2 and
could get connected to Internet automatically.
Also read the guide.

Task 2: Netgear Wgr614V9 setting up

till Task 1 above confirmed and working no suggestions.

I tried to setup the Speedtouch 534 v6. adsl modem, but the options in Post 2 are not really very much applicable to this modem.

I am able to connect to internet using the Modem only (using LAN wire).
However I am not getting how to set it up for automatic connection. Please help as the options for this modem isn't very familiar one.

Also I am able to connect to the WIfi network of the netgear router, but the internet isn't working in this case.

I am sorry, your problem not solved for past three months.

TASK 1:.

I will try to give step by step instructions to set your speedtouch 534 v6 ,
to connect automatically to internet.

Confirm menu page/s are similar.

You have to select RoutedPPPoE-DHCP-NAT (3rd option)
and then enter Your ISP ID PW.
presume VPI/VCI 0 and 35 selected for BSNL/
enable DHCP. Give a range 192.168.1.3 to say 192.168.1.20
Select DNS auto select.
Save and reboot.

Task 2.

I am able to connect to the WIfi network of the netgear router, but the internet isn't working in this case.
