Can i use Binatone wifi router for Cable internet(ie pacenet) I just switched from airtel broadband to my local cable net (pacenet) , 1 mbps unlimited, 700 bucks plan. I have airtel's binatone router, the cable guys said i cannot use them for cable net, can I?? They told to get a dlink or other router.
Now can i use my binatone router for cable net or do i have to get a new router??

Did you get any Cable modem from ISP Pacenet ?( Motorola cable modem etc ?)
or just a rj45 connection.?

He only connected rj45 cable to back of CPU , i guess to ethernet port and then did network settings on PC, my binatone router model- DT 845W
now i connect that rj45 wire to lan1 of binatone and connect what other wire??
also after doing that i login from binatone ip, or pacenet login ip?

Log in with Pacenet id/pw.

enter your MtnlId PW etc.
SAVE
reboot try in lan mode.
Then wifi.

so i login with pacenet id/pw in pacenet ip address right?? then there's no need to log in binatone ip addres ,but in binatone ip adress airtel's details are still there on that. Will it still work??

Hey just tried it..one rj45 was already connected from router to pc, and i connected pacenet's rj45 cable to binatone router...
loged in from pc it got connected, but when trying to connect from Laptop, wifi it connects but it comes as 'no internet access'
What to do now??? plz help... thanks again
Hey now binatone's ip address ie 1 9 2.168. 1.1/ is not opening..
I resetted the router but still the ip does not open.. what to do now

In Binatone select Dynamic IP in all PVC's
Save . & try again . Lan mode and wifi mode.
Does the SSID as entered in Binatone appear in Laptop /
SSID:Is it AIRTEL or MNGMT or a name you entered wep code ?
Post the Firmware version as seen on top Status device info.
Problem is binatone ip doesnt open at all now, just few hrs back i changed user and pasword from airtel's to pacenet user and pasword, now binatone ip doesnt open up at all even after resetting...
regarding SSID, i resetted the router, and its showing as binatone on my laptop,its asking for wep key, i entered wep key but it does not connect now, i dont know whats the default wep key

my friend's sayin that adsl modem's and cable net modem's are different.hence they do not
anyways is there any other way i can connect to my laptop wirelessly in my home...
yes..tried 1st no.ie 0987654321 it got connected but its of airtel's network..

K, now im trying to login binatone ip via laptop, i tried entering username: admin and password as password but its not working

confirms BOTH router and system wifi. network settings OKyes..tried 1st no.ie 0987654321 it got connected but its of airtel's network..
when there is no data input from Airtel The ssid name and security code can be anything.
Now Binatone is used as a switch and the wifi page looks for a signal input.
As there is No WAn port in binatone ( and No adsl rj 11 input ) only Pacenet
is working in LAn/Lan2 combination.

T o transfer this to wifi mode The Internet settings menu is searched.
So select Dynamic IP and try for wifi mode

I have selected Static IP and done in a different manner.
Ip address what Pacenet has given
Subnet same as given by pace net
Gateway Binatone Ip address 192.168.1.1.
DNS as given by pacenet.
( check Ipconfig /all when connected to pace net )

Or Download "Connectify" and install it.
The laptop connected to Pacenet will work as AP
( Acccess Point ) for OTHER wifi laptops phone within limited range.
(d) Borrow a standalone wifi router ( Netgear wgr614V9 etc ) and try mode. ( Input to WAN/Internet port).Dynamic IP

So far, I don't know any other settings. ( Another option "MER" if available in modem with/ without Rj11 input ) Tried for WIMAX circuits.
Because of MAC address binding only one system can connect, with some cable BB.
if Binatone wifi router from AIRTEL ID is admin PW password.
Else RESET and start all over again.
