In my home the telephone jack connects to splitter & from there cordless phone is just nearbly (less than 1 feet) but the modem line goes to bedroom (around 15 - 20 Feet) through hole in wall from living room to bedroom. I am getting very good speeds 1.6 -1.7 MBps but sometimes rarely when it disconnects and again connects i have to hold joints tightly, then it seems ok, but this situation is very rare. and as the hole in wall / door frame is a drill hole only wire can pass / the RJ 45 Jack cannot pass. So the connection comes like
Splitter Modem Jack
RJ 45 Plug

(manual Joint)

Wall (wire passing through hole in wall)

RJ 45 Plug
ADSL Modem
actually this could have been avoided with just one manual joint but while doing the connections 2 yrs ago this did not stuck me. Now shall i get a new wire of the length with RJ 45 jacks at both ends (20 feet long) and cut it in middle so that it will pass through the hole in wall. Or are there any button connectors available in market to connect the manual joints without any loss of data.
Please advice me. Also one question, seems impractical, but putting any fibre optic wire in home do any justice to good speeds. But wire from exchange to home might be just normal wire / standard wire.
