Thread: How to start your own pop mail service

To start your own email service, you should know some basic stuff about pop servers, firewalls and smtp servers. Their protocols, their ports, firewalls behaviours and other stuff.
You should read from wikipedia about all this.

Now when you think that you are equipped with all the knowledge and ready to start you own email service(which runs from your own computer) you should be ready for this.

1. DOWNLOAD QK SMTP (its 30days free software)
Ask Mickey for the code for making the server trial free. (by mailing him or contacting on his form in the website homepage, he will send you the code.)
or Download Quickmail(which is paid). Search Pablo quickmail on the google. Or you can ask on email or contact form for a zip archive of the program. Or you can download Babypop3 from Pablo's same site(free pop server)


2. dDNS account with subdomain. There are many many service providers out there. Search on google "Free subdomain with ddns" and you will get the results.


3. Manage ip updater client for your dynamic i.p and set your computer ip on it. And also put mx(mail server) values on your ddns provider's control panel before the exact domain. If you fail in this, you wont be able to correctly install mailserver for your domain.


4. Run the mailserver or babypop3 server application. (run it on 110 port-incoming and 25 port outgoing) you will get message for it. If you are running babypop3 app, you will be required to run the qk smtp server.


5. Now you can put values of your domain(which is your pop and also smtp hosts) and your username and password in the respective configuration wizards of the mailserver.


6. You have to let the smtp and or mailserver (which has both pop and smtp in it)running while you are using your server as the host. you cannot exit.


7. Now after you have assigned the mailbox settings, you can open your ms-outlook or weblogin on mail2web.com and check if the settings are working. Ms-outlook will give your errors if your settings are wrong.


Once all the above steps are done correctly, you can now use your new branded and your own email service for free Try sending test mails on it using any other web based email service and it work!!






Notes:- Dont close firewall comodo(best firewall) set windows firewall to public mode on xp and windows 7 versions
