    Default How to setup utorrent settings for bsnl bb?

    hello everyone,
    can you give me setup guide for torrent downloading. i am on home combo plan 1350 4mbps
    my average net speed
    download = 2.1 Mbps
    upload = 4.2 Mbps

    setup guide in utorrenti,e Option> Setup Guide

    Bandwidth= which is the nearest location??

    manually port forwarding is done( source = Vuze port forwarding for BSNL broadband modem - YouTube)

    currently m getting only 200 kB/s for downloading a healthy torrent file. which i think is slow.

    Please don't direct me to random page for tweaks and tricks (there are 1000s of it and all are lame ones). A proven setting would be nice.
    thank you in advance.

    You dont really need any tips or tricks. I run torrents all the time on an Airtel 3g connection and I get about 500kB/s although seperate speed tests to my own server some times gives me 7mbps+ download speed but torrents are different. The longer you let them run better the speed would get. I run Utorrent with the default settings and have never done anything about port forwarding or anything. Some ISP's throttle speeds but 200 kB/s seems to be decent on your connection I believe.
    If you have very large filed to download then I would suggest getting a shared hosting account on some linux server for like $5 a month or something and install some torrent script that you can use to download files onto your server and you dont even have to keep your computer running and once the file is done you can download to your local computer usinf FTP which would give you the max your connection can support provided the host is good.
    Do give me a shout if you need more insight on setting this up on a server I might even do it for you if you want

    I have got their Rs1250 for 10GB plan and the speed is fantastic, no complaints so far apart from occasional disconnection for a second or two.

    I have used torrent flux myself and its a small script and is very easy to install. You can download or seed files from your server and once a file is downloaded onto your server you can download it in your own time using a FTP client on your computer. I use Filezilla for FTP.
    Its a very easy setup and will take about 15 mins all in including buying a server and setting it up for this purpose and installing filezilla on your machine Its the best thing to do if you have a connection that is unlimited at night for example or you have a very high speed connection access some where you can go and download a few GBs in mins Go check out the speeds students get in one of the IIT campuses or even other engineering colleges they are not allowed torrents but FTP has no restrictions.

    There are different things you can do. You could go for shared hosting that starts from $1 and goes up to 40-50$ a month depending on company and plans and you could also get a VPS that would start from somewhere around $20+ per month and if you want a dedicated server which you dont really need in this case would cost $100+ per months.
    So depending upon your needs you can choose one of them but you have to talk to the hosting company first if they allow using such scripts because most of them dont allow torrents. Apart from the monthly fee there is no other expense. I haven't tried this on a shared server so you might need a domain name to set up an account which is another $10 per year.

    Yeh thats a good client but I have been using filezilla since the 16th century so I guess I am gonna stick to that as I havent got any complaints and it does everything I ask it to do and never hangs like some of the other clients do.
