Default how to find out if dhcp requests are reaching router

I have a BSNL connection. On the modem no where model number is written.

    1) How do I find out the model number of my router. It is written on it
Nokia Siemens and via 192.168.1.1 I see
    Board ID - 96338W2

    2) How can I know if DHCP requests from one of the laptops I have are reaching the router.
The laptop is question is having problem so I want to make sure if the hardware on laptop is alright.
So want to know if the device is relaying DHCP requests and the router is responding to them.
What commands can I try on router and how?

Check my sticky Post WA3002_g4 quick reference for details about NSN1600 router.

    For Advanced Options type 192.168.1.1/main.html
Ensure connected in PPPoE )"Always On") mode.
    (userid/pw stored/entered in router wan page )

If DHCP is enabled in router ( usually in LAN menu page )
It is the computer/cellphone laptop etc that gets IP address
    allotted by /modem/router.

    Laptop Network/LAN WLAN properties
    new page Select TCP/IP properties
Obtain Ip address automatically . Apply Save.

In desktop or laptop Check Start RUN type cmd Ok
    New window

    type ipconfig /all

    Hi,

    1. To find the model no. there are two ways.
First, and simlpe, look behind/under the product where the company logo along with the model and serial no is sticked with a label. If this label is torn, the alternate method is looking it by accesing the router login page.
For this, as you mentioned, get to your router admin page (from your gateway, like you said before). Type in the credentials when prompted for. On the "staus" page (depending on the make of the router) all info will be shown.

    2. Your concept of DHCP is wrong. DCHP protocol is in the router. DHCP gives intenal ip address to your laptop. If you want to check your netwok card (as I understand), are you able to connect to your Siemens router? If yes, all's fine.
Additionaly, you can try the "ping" command in the command prompt.
    PING <DEFAULT GATEWAY>
This would return you with 100% success rate with your router, which is the default gateway in your case.

    Hope this solves your query.
    Cheers!

I checked all your links, in any of them it is not mentioned how to check the log file on my router which shows if the router received any DHCP request from any of the machines in my network.

See the issue here is one of my laptops in Fedora is disconnecting frequently and asking for authorization again and again. So some times it can connect and some times it can not.It is a dual boot machine with Ubuntu and Fedora on it.No Windows.
In Ubuntu on this machine I see the same behavior.

While another laptop (with an identical machine same hardware same Fedora) is able to connect. What I am trying to see is if the requests are reaching the BSNL router or they are dying some where in between.

So I want to login to the router not by http or browser but by some other command line tool. From browser I have checked after logging in to 192.168.1.1 I do not see any option to see if there is any log file which shows you which DHCP requests the router recieved. There is an option known as Station Info but this is useless as this shows the Mac Adress of only those machines where actual connection is established. It does not tell if a particular machine requested for IP or not.
That way I can find out if machine in problem requested for IP or not. From /var/log/messages on machine this fact is not clear.Though dhclient is running there.

This kind of log file etc will be definitely there in my opinion but for that logging via browser is not the correct way I need some shell to operate on it.For BSNL router at home I do not know how to do this.Hence I asked.
