All you will need is a wifi modem.

Your lan cable will be connected to the wifi modem, and your wifi modem will be connected to a power socket.

The computer that you are using does it have wifi?

Whats your budget for a modem?

Which modem is it? If it does not have a wifi router built in then just go buy a wifi router and it would take the cable that comes out of your modem and create a wifi network for you.

For the wifi router you need to set it up in DHCP and it is fairly simple to do that.

Assuming that the "normal modem" is a dsl/cable modem, adding a wifi router between the dsl/cable modem and your computer is easy, and is generally a do it yourself level job.

step 0>> purchase a wifi router (linksys, netgear, belkin, d-link, i-ball, etc are good brands.)
step 1>> bridge the dsl/cable modem, (no idea if cable modems can be bridged)
step 2>> configure pppoe username password on your wifi router,
step 3>> use internet via wifi on multiple devices.

    end of story.

where this becomes interesting is, if you run into any network issues while adding or changing stuff. but that is what this forum is for...
