I tried it but I can't see any of those options for my DSL Router. Perhaps my modem being Nokia Siemens 1600, there are some changes. Also, I must add one thing: The speed for torrents is varying. Sometimes it's normal that is 50-70 KBps, and at other times it's 5-6 or 10-12 KBps.

Torrent speed depends on a lot of factors. Mainly on seeds and their speed. If you are getting 50 -70 occasionally, your connection is good.

But, earlier I got 50-70 all the time, and not just occasionally.

And with 15-20 seeds what speed should I expect? I was getting 5-9 KBps.

Please mention your ISP plan name/speed. Check whether port is properly forwarded.

guys can you help me out with my problem....

    HI guys!!

first of thanx for such a nice forum !!! i recently came across this and the site is really useful...

now my coming to my problem...

    my router is UT300R2U

my net connection is BSNL HOME 500C... i was manually dialing my broadband connection each time to get the internet connection in my laptop..

I was using BitTorrent client for downloads... i was having very good download speeds of 200+kbps...

But i got a problem recently...

I had problem with the manual dialling for internet connection.. each time there was some problem and i had dial many times(for 15~20 minutes) before connecting to internet. also the internet connection got cut sometimes...

this problem was there for 2 months.. after this a BSNL jto came recently and changed some router settings...

NOW, the problem is solved... now the internet connection starts automatically after i switch on the router...

BUT THE PROBLEM NOW IS I AM GETTING REDUCED SPEEDS IN MY Bit TORRENT.

there is a YELLOW WARNING ICON at the bottom of the torrent saying that "NO INCOMING CONNECTIONS"

i tried doing things mentioned in this thread.. but still im not able to solve my problem...

my router page is not having any VIRTUAL SERVER tab as told in this thread..

the router pagee has only options like>>>
    Device Info
    Summary
    WAN
    Statistics
    Route
    ARP
    DHCP
    Advanced Setup
    Diagnostics
    Management

So PLZ HELP ME OUT GUYS!!!

How do i change my port forward settings??

How CAN I GET BACK FULL SPPED IN TORRENTS??

    What should i do now??

    @bresourceful
Try the port fowarding by using NAT-DMZ option.

hi finally i came up with a solution to port forward in nokia siemens residential router 1600, first download this software simple port forwarding 2.5 ffollow the steps one by one, when it asks you to select the router model SELECT ASUS AM604, it seems its the same firmware, so it worked as a charm for me, i also tested in my friend s nokia siemens 1699 modem, do the rest of the steps as guided in the software and everything will be fine, the programer of the software told me that he will add nokia siemens 1600 also to his list of routers in the software pretty soon so till then use this ASUS AM604, ENJOY

    Default Beware

Simple portforwarding is a malware,it doesnt portforward but gives u an illusion of portforwarding by altering specific program like utorrent(the program i used).after installing this software
utorrent window might show port is open by turning the rectangle yellow icon to green circle but reality it has just altered the application.

    @ibrahim
    UT300R2U New supplied by BSNL.

Sorry. Under NAT you will find only DMZ
in Both "Dialer"( bridged") mode and "Always On"( PPPoE).
No Virtual server/Port triggering menu items available.

Cannot recommend FW update with Beetel FW ,

    the page is similar :
    Show Image | PcWinTech.comâ„¢
( hardware board is same )
    If modem goes "DUD"
    you will blame me !
If modem on rent, try to exchange for a Type II modem.
or buy additional wifi router ( cost Rs 1500- Rs 2500) and try .

Type 192.168.1.1 in your browser. ID and password admin. Take internet connection, browse through the pages. You will find an option to choose from PPPoE and Bridge. Select bridge.

After changing to bridge mode, create a new connection (Dialler) using your username and password. Click connect and get connected to net. Hope this helped.

    Procedure:

Start > Control Panel > Network connection > create a new connection >

Connect to internet > Set up my connection manually > Connect using broadband connection that requires an user name and password

I have a couple of queries
    1) what is vpi/vcn it has two options 1/32 and 0/35 in my modem can anybody tell me what they are and I am using dialer mode so what is the best config .
    2) when ever i minimize utorrent its download speed reduces drastically(by minimizing I also mean changing to other window I saw it by reducing window size). I have done port forwarding and also increased task managers priority Can anybody help me. I would be greatfull

If you are connected to Internet and can surf and
    download from torrents
    IGNORE! Do nothing !!!
IF You are connected in line VPI/VCI O_35( in "Bridged" mode. )Your ISP Is BSNL
    IF your ISP Is Airtel
VPI/VCI 1 _32 will be "bridged" mode ( using dialer.)
Only one can be connected in a single modem.
