for such simple task use 3rd party application ?

Start > RUN. type msconfig and hit enter.

Check the image. and Disable what you need.

ha ha lolzzz this is real funny. Tere PC mein Bhoot aya hai ek nariyal phod hanuman k mandir mein :P

just kidding.... do 1 thing...... uninstall Utorrent and install again. Else try BitComent. Its also too good. Still i feel that problem you posted is purely physiological and not of utorrrent software

    1. Tried Msconfig : but still utorrent
appears in Startup and ICON inTask bar.
    2. Download Anvir Task Manager
    http://www.anvir.com/downloads/taskpro.exe

uncheck box in start up list. ( see last item for me ).

well, for me BitComet is fine. uses full bandwidth of 32Kbps download and Upload. but same in u-torrent hardly touches 28. so i am using BitComent. Try it. Remove U-torrent

and install windows 7. its awesome.

p/s. Let me clarify this a bit. This thread is not about - how to port forward with a specific modem although this guide gives the example of UT300R2U.

Rather this guide is to explain the concepts.

Default Port forwarding Airtel Beetel 220x ADSL router (Broadcom BCM6338)

    Hi,

I saw some posts asking how to configure port forwarding in Airtel broadband. I have written a blog on techmindviews.blogspot.com/2010/04/free-dns-google-website-hosting-home.html (Virtual Home Server to Host Your Website for Free) where the port forwarding for Airtel is explained with screen shots. Start from Step 4.

    Cheers,
    Sunil.

    Default DNA-A213 router

    Hello,

I am using Semindia DNA-A213 router from couple of days. I found that while using this router my downloading speed in utorrent is quite less. It was 150+ kbps before. now itis downloading with only 20-130kpbs. And sometime it goes to 200 also, but very rarely. And if i download a file frm mozilla or so it has a 200 kbps speed. I dont know what is the prblm. Is because of i hvn't forward my port?? utorrent is showing my port is not forwarded bt i am still able to download. What to do?? pls help

    Try this

http://www.indiabroadband.net/broadb...onnection.html (How to: get max. speed of a connection)

EVDO speed depends on so many factors like distance from tower, no of users per tower and so on. Me too paying Rs. 750 for UL 750 512 Kbps unlimited. This is the main reason I am not opting EVDO.

Guys I want to forward some ports as I play P2P based games.
In the above image, what to fill in the internal and external port options.

    Are they same?
Also, does port forwarding improves your ping?
I've been getting high ping for a few days and I cant play games smoothly.

Yes, they are all same...just enter the port you want to forward.

    Ping depends on many factors.

I opened a particular port but when I checked if it is open, an error pops up -

"Error: I could not see your service on 59.178.49.171 on port (30001)
    Reason: Connection timed out"

    What's wrong?

If you have a good firewall installed, your ports are either closed or in stealth mode for security reasons.

So noone can detect a particular port...

Okay. Is it possible that windows firewall is responsible, as I have no other firewall installed?

Also take a look at the virtual servers page. Have I opened the ports correctly?

    h ttp://imageshack.us/photo/ my-images/594/123yj.jpg/

In the "Server IP adress" column I should fill my PC's private IP address which is assigned DHCP right?

Also, my ping sucks. (373 ms, server at ~900mi) How can I lower it?

ports were opened when I checked on utorrent

    Use TCP/UDP

    Everything else is ok!

Ping cannot be lowered like that...
