thanks guys for a very informative forum and responces. I did know about it and I was trying something by myself and got into problem. I am trying to connect Router UT-300R2U with Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G and able to connect internet through data-one.
Problem is tha I dont know what settings I made in past because of which whenever I connect through linksys router 192.168.1.1 doesnt open at all. Friends please help me ....FYI I was able to access 192.168.1.1 before but i didnt know the configuration so I was just doing hit and trial and messed it up.
friends please help me out...I am not able to access //192.168.1.1 when i connect through wireless router, otherwise I am able to connect perfectly thru bsnl dataone-u300r2u however page doesnt open up at all when i connect thru wireless roter...

@big2008,
You asked me a question. But in SMS like language. Please repost your question in a language that is simple English.
I will be glad to help you out.
Thanks.
i am so sorry about that
got too used to it
i had at first thanked you for giving the guide which i had gone through.
i have linksys wrt54g2 router and bsnl ut300r2u
as i had the modem settings already installed in my laptop i started following step wise from configuring the router in your guide.
everything went well but in the last when i had tried to check the status it does not show the time nor the ip adress.
it shows 'connecting' and ultimately shows 'could not get ip adress'
1.could you tell me where i went wrong?
also i had put the ip adress as 192.168.2.1
2.do i need to run the cd i got with the linksys router before doing all this
as i dint do that?
Start RUN type cmd Okshows 'connecting' and ultimately shows 'could not get ip adress'
New window
type
ipconfig /all

appears your OS is VISTA.
1.In Network settings page
disable IPV6.
2.Select obtain IP address automatically
enter dns 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222
Apply Save.
3
seems you are on Dialer Mode.
Change over to "Always On " mode.
enter UserId ( without @bsnl.in ) and PW in modem.
Save reboot.
i removed the option of ivp6
entered the mentioned dns
but could not locate 'always on' option you said
so after doing all this should i have to start up with the guide again?
and yes i have vista
i have tried to connect the wifi,so swiched on the wifi on my laptop and also switched on the linksys router.
the router's name got recognised[that is the name i had used for it after following the instructions in the guide]
it got connected to it and said signal strength is excellent but when i open the browser it does not connect to net.
next i thought i would follow the guide right from the setup of bsnl router,so i deleted the network settings in my laptop
put in the cd i got along with bsnl modem and set the drivers then opened the internet explorer and typed 192.168.1.1
it dint open any wizard page as shown in the guide
instead it opened dsl dataone page showing details about the net connection.
i dint find any wizard option there too for me to run
so now i am stranded here
kindly help me out
@ essbebe
i had made the connection as ppoe only during installation of net settings initially

Always Use small quotes and answer queries specifically.[/Change over to "Always On " mode.
enter UserId ( without @bsnl.in ) and PW in modem.
Save reboot.
Scrolling the full page is a time consuming affair .
understand, that your internet connection is automatic,
when you start computer modem etc.
Confirm you get connected to Internet now.
Using Only the adsl modem.
i was not having this option of dial up before i went ahead with this guide
i had gone into network options and then used to connect to net
but now on system start up itself i am getting option for dial up
@big2008,
Try this method.
First make sure that you are able to connect to internet using the wired (UT-300R2U) modem. Configure this in PPPoE mode.
Afterwards connect the LinkSys WRT54G to it and set it up in Automatic DHCP aka bridge mode.
Use this guide: Solution for multiple machines connecting to same BB connection
