    Default Cheapest equipment?

Should I let my ISP give me the default (cheapest) equipment, or should I get something better?

If you get your own CPE you will enjoy no support and any problem with connections they will always blame your equipment stating that it is not compliant with their network. So it is better to take the ISP's equipment.

even i advice you same as just4kix... not to purchase your CPE (Customer Premisis Equipment) coz whenever you will face any problems your ISP will blame your modem/ router for that... better idea is to go for CPE provided by ISP...

which modem/router your ISP is providing you... just check again with your ISP may be they can provide you some better options....

I agree with sb21pro that by getting our own CPE we can control the connection much better - especially port forwarding and port triggering.

But I will always advise buying CPE from ISP still for the reasons mentioned.
