Default India's Rank in The World of Broadband

Dear All, I don't know if you people have already seen this but India ranks really low in the world broadband rankings.

    Have a look at speedtest.net/global.php

We rank below Sri Lanka and Pakistan and are at number 128

Only because we allow them (Our ISP's and Our Government) to push us back to the dark ages.

Broadband in Pakistan is cheaper then India.

Oh if that is true, it's bad news... The internet-abundant source of knowledge should be expanded here.

Its Pakis Rs. right, but also see that their economy is not a stable one like India's..
for different products they pay much higher (which is comparatively very very high for them) as much they are paid..
    food is expensive..

but for internet, if they dont keep the prices normal, then no one will use their services...

for them its "good to keep low & to earn whatever you get" feeling.. but for Indian companies, the crowd is large. people are fooled easily in the web of different plans.. and can pay higher...

I have heard that in Finland 1Mbps connection is a legal right! Here even for half of that we have to pay through our noses.

I think Broadband is in Pakistan is available on too much low price. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority is providing wireless Broadband USB Also which is 3.1 MB. It is a great offer for use the broadband without wires.

    20 Mbps I do have

    http: //www .speedtest.net/result/748135979.png

But paying 60€/month for it, that is.. +/- Rs 4200/month.

Also: I live in downtown Brussels, Belgium.

Those living in the countryside only have 1mbps (sometimes less). So yes 20 mbps is available, but definitely not for everyone

    Enviable.

Is there any limit for the upload /download. Say 100 GB a month or so ?

    It is surely unlimited.
Only countries like India have limited usage, most of the countries are providing only unlimited internet connection.

Thanks for the embedding! Since I only have 8 posts, I'm not yet allowed to embed links and images (15 posts minimum )

And yes, there is a limit: 75 Go/month (up- and download).

If I want an unlimited data transfer, I need to pay a whole lot more (+/- Rs 6000/month).

When I download a game from Steam, I sometimes reach (late at night, when no one's on the internet anymore) around 2,1 MB/s. Which is quite enjoyable.. a common *.avi dvdrip is around 800 MB, I'd need 400 seconds i.e. 6 minutes, to download it. \ o /
