    Default What is a WINS server?

    1. Today I was just looking through TCP/IP properties in the Network Connections in Windows 7 where I stumbled upon this word in the Alternative Configuration. What does WINS server means?
    2. Which is better - configuring the DNS in the router or in the TCP/IP settings. Furthermore my modem/router(Nokia Siemens Networks c2110) allows only 3 DNSs to be assigned. But I like to assign 4 DNSs- 2 each of Open DNS and Google DNS.
