Hi, can anyone tell me if we can use Tomato firmware for Beetel 450TC1 Modem-cum-router?
Unlikely.Even if you try you may get an error message.
usually files with *.ras used.
Tomato Firmware is a partially free HyperWRT-based, Linux core firmware distribution for a range of Broadcom chipset based wireless routers, most notably the older-model Linksys WRT54G (including the WRT54GL and WRT54GS), Buffalo AirStation, Asus Routers and Netgear's WNR3500L. Among other notable features is the user interface, which makes heavy use of AJAX as well as an SVG-based graphical bandwidth monitor.........
WA3002-G4 QUICK GUIDE=>20 MODEMS 74,000+45,400 hits
*Beetel220BX/450TCI type !****
*AN1020-21 type models ****23,700 hits ** BSNL LINKS**9900******USAGE check ** 54,600
But Beetel 450TC1 is also based on a Broadcom chipset right? And is there any chance that i may damage it if the firmware doesnt work?
If you try any other FW version other than *.ras
this model gives a message "You put the wrong file"
To test try FW with even extension *.ras for some other Beetel wifi model.
Say Binatone wifi model.AT your OWN RISK
Even if the correct FW version is loaded, and process is on, and Power fails the modem can be "bricked "!!
2.
Specify what additional facilities you intend to have with Tomato FW.
or you find any problem in existing FW.
Probably the EPROM capacity is not sufficient .
Partial list of Models: similar FW.

There is actually no problems with the current FW but Tomato gives me a lot of additional options such as better QoS, Time based filters, etc. Any other ideas anyone?
I'm not sure but people have suggested it might work: forums.techarena.in/networking-security/1422984.htm
