    Default Linksys WRT54G3G

    Hi

I would like to buy Linksys WRT54G3G. I think there are many versions as below.

    WRT54G3G-VN
    WRT54G3G-AT
    ..etc.

Please let me know which is most suitable for BSNL. I prefer using PC-Card for 3G. Hope this can be inserted in the above.

Please let me know any reliable seller details, or online-cart inside/outside India.

    Thanks
    Murugan

    I prefer using PC-Card for 3G.
IN any WiFi modem/router no other
    unit can be added.
Do you have a landline ( telephone line) based Broadband connection now?

If so Mention the modem/router model/make/number

about 3G service . will give details later.
    Feedback.

I have an existing BSNL BroadBand line. But, I do NOT want to use this broadband Internet Connectivity at all.

I want to insert the PC-Card for 3G in Linksys WRT54G3G, and share the Internet Connectivity to my laptops. For that, I want to know which of the below, I should purchase.

    WRT54G3G-AT
    ..etc.

    Thanks

    about 3G service

    see .
    3G Home Page
Wired broadband is a fixed place service requiring a wired line connectivity upto the computer. On the contrary, wireless broadband is a wireless service which enables you to access internet anywhere, in the house or while on the move
    Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

3G broadband can be accessed through Handset supporting 3G.
You will be able to enjoy High speed internet and data service
even while on the move. You require a 3G handset and subscription
for 3G services to use mobile broadband on your handset.

In case, you want to connect your laptop or PDA (personal digital assistant)
to 3G network, like while moving in a vehicle,
you will require to connect your 3G handset to the computer
through data cable, infrared or blue tooth.

You may also buy a 3G data card and use the same with your computer
to access high speed 3G network.

    Not possible.
You cannot insert any external card to WiFi
    routers you have mentioned
Study the facility and read the FAQ's
    =================================

There are two types of data card 1. HSDPA card PCMCIA based 2. HSDPA card USB based and can be connected respectively at PCMCIA slot and USB port of Laptop . These are plug and play devices. The download speed presently available with these cards is 3.6 Mbps. In due course other types of cards will also be available.

    Hi

I do NOT want to use any 3G Mobile Phone handset.
I do NOT want to use any Infra-Red or BlueTooth connectivity.

I will subscribe for the 3G-SIM card with BSNL. I will insert this SIM into the PC-Card, and insert this PC-Card into Linksys WRT54G3G.

To do the above, I want to know which of the below models, I should purchase.

    WRT54G3G-VN
    WRT54G3G-AT
    ..etc.

    Thanks

The Linksys Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband is really three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G (802.11g at 54Mbps) and Wireless-B (802.11b at 11Mbps) devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly, or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need.
    ***********
The Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a 3G/UMTS or GPRS Internet connection (requires Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G/UMTS data card, available separately). You can also use a standard Ethernet attached Internet connection, like a cable or DSL modem, if available.
Once your computers are connected to the Router and the Internet, they can communicate with each other too, sharing document files, a printer, storage space, and other resources.
To protect your data and privacy, the Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband can encode all wireless LAN transmissions with WEP or industrial-strength WPA Personal encryption. The Router can serve as a DHCP Server, has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports VPN pass-through. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility.
With the Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband, you can create a secure wireless network with Internet connectivity, anywhere that 3G/UMTS or GPRS service is available. « less
