I want to know if this is possible in bsnl 3g too!
Suppose you want to ignore a particular number, and the computer should say my recorded message
    Or
The computer should say that the person you are trying to call is busy! Please leave the message??

I doubt whether what you are asking is available. But you could check.

Many cell phones handsets do have a call screening facility. You can enter a number and that number will be filtered.

    a) When that number call, the number will be shown on the screen but the phone will not ring or vibrate.
    b) An "X" mark will appear on the phone telling you that this is a filtered number.

But it will not tell the caller that number is busy, etc. The caller will get a normal caller tone.

Maybe your 'computer uncle' is using a call answering machine. Or maybe he was just pulling your leg.

This feature is called Voice Mail provided by the service provider. It is offered by TATA Indicom (92 series no.) and most other service providers. It also needs the facility of Call forwarding.

    1. Activate Voice Mail
    2. Record a message (obviously your own voice) to be played to the callers
    3. Activate conditional call forwarding (forward to voicemail when busy/unreachable)

The retrieving of messages from voicemail box is chargeable as per normal calls

I am using this facility with my Reliance CDMA No. since 2003.
