Thread: Xperia x10 not recognising Bsnl sim

Hi all,
I've recently bought the Xperia x10 mobile and also subscribed for bsnl prepaid connection so that I can use 3g in my mobile. But, X10 doesn't recognise my bsnl sim. It's saying that there is "no sim card in the phone" and when I unlock my phone it just keeps on showing me the "activating phone" message forever.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

Does this new sim work in other phones? Have you tried another sim card in your Xperia?

Doing the above will at least get you to some sort of conclusion and you can act accordingly.

yes, I've tried the new sim in other phones and other sims in my phone. I've also tried another new bsnl sim card from the dealer and it's not working too( although it works in other phones). And the most annoying thing is that the bsnl sim which the dealer uses for recharging, it works perfectly although, I don't think that it's a 3g enabled sim.
Can it be some problem with X10 and 3g sim cards??

I suppose the only way to find that out is to find some one who has Xperia x10 and see if Bsnl 3g sim cards work in their handset.

I have a X10 and my new BSNL 3g sim is working fine..

my friend has Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.Althogh BSNL 3G has been not launched in M.P.But he is using BSNL 2G sim and its working fine....
