Default Huawei e1750 slower than phone modem

BSNL 3G Sim + Huawei E1750 vs Omnia HD (i8910) as modem.

I am from Chennai and have just gotten the bsnl 3g sim and Huwaei e17509from ebay).

    Issues:
First) First few days I was getting very high spped upto 2-2.5 mbps but now I am not getting the same. (Very low speed)

Second) When I use my omnia hd as Modem with same 3g card I am getting little higher speed than Huawei e1750. Anyone knows the reason for the same? If someone has the fix for it then please do let me know. Currently I am not getting more than 50 kBps. Though I am seeing the cyan colore light in Huawei and 3 towers in the connection bar in laptop.

Currently I am getting very slow speed. I checked the automatic dns I am getting is of google (8.8.8.8) using Huawei. Do I need to change the same?

Hope here someone already knows the answers!

I am seeing the difference also in the access points: bsnlnet and gprssouth.cellone.in. Anyone seeing the same? Which one you guys are using in Chennai?

Though I used to get normally 3.6Mbps speed, for the past 3 0r 4 days I am getting only 2 to 2.5 Mbps. May be due to incessant rain !

Now I am testing K4505 from 10.37 AM today . Now I can have normal speeds from 3.2 to 3.6Mbps up to 12.00 Noon and afterward fluctuating from 2.0 to 3.6Mbps.( may be due to seeders and server connectivity for direct d'load. )

Give full details in a day or two. But till now for a continuous 2.5 Hours no disconnection.

Settings no problem. You can see this thread........

APN is cellone. But, both in Sierra AC306 and Huawei K4505, everything is auto configured. I haven't changed anything.

Reg unlimited use I have no idea. Better to contact nearest BSNL CSC, if you are lucky enough to be answered.

I am not getting stable speed. In night I am getting 2+mbps speed but in day time it goes down below 30-40 kBps. I contacted the customer call on 1503 and registered a complaint 2 days back. Nothing due

I have unlocked Huwaei e1750. I am in Thuraipakkam chennai area. I have tried to use the following access points:

    1) bsnlnet without username password
    2) gprssouth.cellone.in without username password
    3) bsnlnet with username and password (both as my ten digit mobile number)
    4) gprssouth.cellone.in with username and password (both same as my ten digit mobile number)

Any suggestion how to resolve the issue. Is it the area issue or what? I am getting the HSDPA connection with cyan light and same is reflected in the Mobile partner tool.

I am little pissed right now.

Only for EVDO connection you need to enter Username and Password. Not in 3G connection.

During that period of low speed, check the signal strength ( percentage ) by placing the cursor over the signal bars, displayed at the left-bottom corner.

Well I tested with speedtest.net and I am getting less than .5 mbps (that too occasional)with 74% signal four bar with HSPA connection. I am not even able to browse properly sometimes and video buffering is out of question for most of the site news, youtube, facebook, etc. all disrupts in between for buffering that too for long.

What kind of signal strength should I expect? Is it the issue of the BSNL?

I tried to use the USB extension cable moving in all directions in the room, no effect.

Well tomorrow will call again the bsnl 3g customer care as they told me that issue would be addresses within 48 hours. Will try 3G this month (my first month of BSNL 3G)? I didn't took 3 month/6 month unlimited plan and just one month to test. Hope it gets resolved!

First few days I was so fine with the service that I got my landline broadband disconnected. Now I am stuck with this.

    ramli,

when i tried to configure K4505... none of the profile came automatically.. it was showing no profile to conenct.. then after searching here and thr in the tool option i come across something where i defined my new concn and hv put bsnl net as my apn..

getting 1-1.5mbps download speed using torrents. but in speedtest.com it shows less than .5mbps..

my question is how did u get all those apn and all automatically in the same device? and is it possible for u to put it into HSPA only mode? for me it is showing wcdma preferred in settings and i cannot access dropdown from there...but most of the times i am getting HSPA signal only but sometimes it fluctuates btn HSPA, BSNL Edge, Bsnl 3G etc etc..

Guide me how i can get the settings automatically.. shall i remove the mobile partner and install it again? pls advice...

    @gr8sharma

For me also the drop dwn menu with WCDMA options are shown after the first instlln. Afterward it is visible but disabled. Cannot change it.

But when opening the mobile partner, in connections window it will show WCDMA in the left bottom corner. When we click the statistics window it changes to HSPA signal and no problems in connectivity.

Fluctuating from HSPA to WCDMA EDGE etc are due to weak signal. Yesterday, during continuous rain, I got that experience.

    My SW version is 16.001.06.01.500
    FW.................. 11.860.02.04.11

If you want download my Mob Prtnr SW uploaded here...post#2 and mediafire link there

    Thumbs up Solution

I thought of replying earlier, but got busy.

Now everything working fine my side. I am not sure what fixed the issues but I got the following things done.

    1) Customer care (1503) - gave them my sim number, not sure if they registered later or was already regitered..

    2) Stopped using Mobile as Modem - It gets heated up and I don't want to do that. Also I am tired of moving sim from Mobile to data card. So just using now for browsing.

    3) 3G Data card (Huawei) - I was not getting the speeds with different access points but later I used just "bsnlnet"

    4) Stopped using Mobile Partner software and use phone dialup with AT advnace command for modem.

Now I am getting stable spped from 1.5 to 2.5 mbps.

Also, if you guys want to use the 3g both for phone and laptop you can buy the wireless router. I will suggest to buy the portable router (small one) so that you can use it in car and home both. There is one cradlepoint one. I am plannign to buy it next month, as currently I am in a process of moving to idfferent location.

Also on BSNL 3G, i took post paid plan of 1350 as I do not want to bind myself with BSNL. In case in few months there is a 3G tariff war happens, I don't want to to end up with the low quality service of particular vendor such as BSNL. Hoping that some good plans come in from competition.

    Hope that helps!
